Lighting My First Grow...Amused to Death

Watering to often causes over watering, giving your plant water until run off will not cause over watering.
Nice grow

Thanks Anthropolis. As far as too much water......probably. Of course, the noob and reading all I could, the general consensus I found was to water till runoff. Nope...not anymore. With my 2 smallest girls, I just water a bit, a cup or so and they're doing great. Again being new, I wanted to make sure ALL the roots got fed. Making sure all the soil was moist. I just need them to dry out and then it's going to be a more controlled feed/water. If they need more....they'll tell me.

I do plan on getting fabric pots for the next go. Also coarse perlite and no verm.

Thanks Growbeast. I guess I was thinking over watered since there is a lot of verm in the soil which was probably still moist when I watered. Every time I've watered, it's been at least 4-5 days apart. What you say makes sense though.

By the time you are finished this grow, you will be a pro. You will be searching the new growers forum all day looking for somebody that needs help with something that you know about lol

Week 4 for 1,2&3
Week 3 for 4,5

The girls seem to be doing pretty good although still small (to me) for week 4 but they are starting some vertical growth.

#2 looks like her FIM may have been a success. I still don't know but anyway she seems happy.

#3 got burned by a cfl a few days ago but it hasn't phased her. Her lower growth is getting so bushy.

Going by the lift pot method, 3,4&5 May get some food tomorrow.....or tonight.

Those are about to take off, get ready for a ride!! I'm gonna pull up a chair if you don't mind.

Welcome Kracker! The more the merrier!

I hope they take off. I am a little disappointed that they are so small and I simply can't imagine them taking off. I sure hope they do though. As this is my very first grow, I have already learned quite a bit and thinking how I'd like to do grow number 2. I'll have to get my thoughts together and run it by you all for opinions and ideas.

Thanks for the encouragement!

The girls were looking a little thirsty this morning. It has been 5 days since I last watered. Last time, Monday, I watered with just ph'd water. I used a gallon for all 5. As I stated previously, afterwards they all looked droopy and looked like it was too much but they pulled through. With today's water, I wanted to feed. Since I wanted to be more careful with the amount of water, I mixed up just a 2 liter bottle for all with Calmag, big bloom and grow big. I wanted to do half dose so I measured that out.......not thinking that the 2 liter bottle is just half a gallon! So...the girls look like they got a full dose!

Damnit! (Seems I'm doing everything to NOT succeed). It has been 2+ hours and the girls don't look as perky as I had hoped. They look greener! Too much nutes? Should I leave them alone? I'm afraid if I attempted a flush, they would look sad and wilted like they did after Monday's attempt. <sigh>

I dont know what to do....

Just watch and wait. You should be fine, when they get older they are not as sensitive. Most of the time your organics are more forgiving. I use roots organic, Im typically running 75% power on my nutes after about a month. "On most strains" My sour crack took full strength nutes with no problem. But, I'm no expert, I'm sure some others will chime in as well.
