New Grower First grow 50% HERMI S ???? (pics.)

Yes, male flowers are sometimes called bananas or nanners because they can be the same shape. We all learn by asking questions, don't worry.

Or balls, they are also called balls.

Sorry about your luck, man. It seems there are several posts about male or hermies. Are autos more prone to this happening ?

Good question CappY. I don't know if Auto are more prone too herming but it's brought on by some type of stress. I'd guess it's a defensive mechanism to make sure the plant can procreate.

Dang hermies. My eyesust be getting bad, I cant find the lady parts. Alls I see is nutts. Sux though. First hermies ive seen come from heavy weight. All of them hermies? If 1 is full male id save it and get some pollen if you had the room.

Autos are just like fem seeds, which are just like normal pot, it all has to do with the breeding. Some breeders want to rush something to production and get it on the market as fast as possible, so they don't vet it out as much as they should or stress test it and hermis result. If any kind of pot is bred well, be they photo, auto, fem, or reg, they will not herm.

:twist::dunno:Well, Now I'm 3 for 4.
Out of 5 seeds I got from ( sounds like hermies ) 4 germinated and one dud.
Out of 4, three did the "change". The 3rd. will be terminated after this post. Two were executed yesterday.
The remaining girl, although maybe under weight for her age, appears to be happy and on track. ( I think... Now into week five)

Her photo along with the 3rd. traitor.

In all fairness this was more or less my first grow, and they received all my mistakes including:
. Too much water in the beginning. ( i will not use rapid rooters again, unless I cut them down significantly and also germ./plant them in the final pots ). This slowed their starts.
. Nute burn. I used half GH formula, and should have used a quarter.
. Mild ph fluctuations with water changes.
. Might have gotten too aggressive with the lighting.
.Temp. fluctuations. ( I was out of town one day. and the temt. got to 94 degrees F.) Although very temporary, I'm sure they didn't like it.
.And lastly, The LST i'm sure stresssed them, as it also slowed growth.

I do have one observation, and that is all three seemed to drastically slow forward growth before turning.

But, The one remaining seems to be doing OK. SO IDK... Bad genetics. Bad situations. Or me bad grower ?

If they where all hermies I would def stay away from that line. Everything you did wasnt 2 bad and the breeder should have stressed test better. I dunno if they are hermies though but I have bad eyes and stuff has to be pointed out to me. To me they all looked male. If they where all male then I would just call it bad luck lol. Also, ive never seen a hermie that started out male. Love the basketball shape of the one in the scrog. Imo those are the best shape profile for a scrog. I wouldnt even call it nute burned lol. I can barely see the discoloration. Good genetics shoukdnt have hermied, specially 3 ofem. Looking good man. Only suggestions I have is watch the leaves and keep her green cause you may have to increase the nutes when she starts takeing off if she starts going pale and next time I wouldnt start training until you are sure she is fully recouped. Shes a beauty! Gluck to ya!

Thanks natertot.
If I screwed them up, then the survivor wouldn't look so good. Well only one will make the grow journal much easier LOL.
Looks like they are just starting to flower. You think I should I keep um under the screen longer, or just let them run for the light now?
