I have been hovering around here for about a month so I figured it was time to say hello.

I am a few weeks away from having a grow tent setup. My local grow shop is looking into getting an account with Lighthouse Hydro so hopefully I will have an led and tent soon. My wife and I are vegan so we will be growing animal free organics. I have been having a hard time finding plant based soil/nutrient recipes so any help would be awesome!

Welcome to the forum. If you're looking at the Blackstar LEDs I'd suggest contacting Gotham Hydro directly. They are the US distributor for Lighthouse and will probably offer a better price, around $275 for the 240 watt model.

Personally I use Pro Mix, which is a peat based soil less mix. To that I add perlite and worm castings, composted manure or guano. There are several good lines of organic nutrients, such as the General Organics Biothrive line.

Welcome to the AFN wallawally. Genral organics is the only line that I know of that promotes veganics. The people that i know that use them have stellar results. I use regular organics so my style wouldn't be of any assistance.

Right after I posted I took a trip to the hydro shop and found Biothrive and a vegan compost. Stuff looks pretty good and says vegan on the label!

Last night I popped some bag seed in root riot plugs and into the pc case. Just playing around until I can get my setup going.

If I can get Lighthouse products at the local shop I don't have to deal with shipping and I like to keep the local places in business. But if they can't I will defiantly be giving Gotham a calling.

I'm the same way with dealing with local businesses as I'm a local business man myself. But where I live there are no hydro stores within 40 miles, so I mostly buy on line. Gotham had mine to me in 3 days.

I just started using the Biothrive my last grow and they did very well. Also get some cal/mag. Pretty much a must have growing under LEDs.
