About Me:
I did a couple of NFT grows about 15 years ago.
Been missing in action ever since.

Ive been lurking on here for a while. Reading, reading and more reading! There was no forums when I used to grow. I learnt what I could from a couple of books. Im keen to write this first grow up and want to say a very big THANK YOU to the forum and all who contribute!

I'd never heard of auto's until I searched the net recently. This time round I just want a simple easy time of it. Im not going to bother with normal pheno types for now. No cuttings, no mothers just straight from seeds and from what Ive read that will be plenty.
Ive been inspired by loads of you on here but Tang and Ledbud from the Dutch Passion blog blew me away! The results these folks got was un-real. So what do I have to loose, I dont care for a bit of extra soil and nutrients. Ive got my monster 30l airpots and we will all see what comes of it.

Seeds went into paper towels April 1st 2014.

I should say I started this diary on April 1st 2014.
So Im a month into the grow. In the next day or so I will bring you right up to speed with where Im at.

Nothing real big has gone wrong yet, so fingers crossed

Hello Everyone... A Little Update


I have germinated my 8 Dutch Passion AutoXtreme seeds using the paper towel method in a sealed plastic container. In this case a sandwich box.


I soaked some super size Jiffy Peat Pellets with a tiny fraction of House and Garden Root stimulant. 4 seeds popped in 24 hours, 2 after 48 hours and the last 2 seeds took 72 hours.


They have now been gently pushed into my Jiffy's and relaxing in my propagator.

I’ve been giving my new room a dry run with all the lights and fans on. Temperatures have been nice and steady at 26c. Ive got the fans on manual at the moment on the lowest setting and they are both virtually silent. I deliberately over specced the fans and filter in the hope they can run at much lower speeds. So far Im chuffed to bits.


Look at the size of this monster filter! I had to build a platform out of wooden pallets to get the fan and filter up to the ceiling.

I saw Tang who is from this forum and a chap called ledbud. I found both these bods from the Dutch Passion blog site. I was blown away with there results! So here I am fingers crossed.

Update

Airpots work as a great stand too

My AutoXtreme's are romping along and roots have popped out of the peat pellets.
Now these are potted up and under the ePapillon lights turned down to 600w.

Ive never done a soil grow before, please keep in mind Ive not grown anything for 15 years.
Man alive I was fooked after making up the 30l airpots!!
Any more of this and I will need a holiday

I potted up with a sprinkle of Plant Magic granules and gave a nice watering in with a smidge of root stimulant from House and Garden.
Lastly they had a little covering of vermiculite to finish off.

Mistake:
I went from Jiffy peat pellet where the roots were only just popping out in to my airpots.
Perhaps I should have let them develop more?
Also I had not filled my water butt up and let it warm up and settle for a few days.
So these little lovely's got watered in with freezing cold water!!
*Ive banned munchies for a week as self punishment

Ive noticed a couple of days after potting up my soil has settled quite a bit.
I did tap and pat my airpots while filling but should of give them a good firm patting down I reckon.
Ive gone round today topping the pots up and then another sprinkle of vermiculite.... Ive got soil and bits of verm bloody everywhere

Its not doing my OCD any favours I can tell ya...
Is it wrong to hoover and mop my groom so its like new again ?

Everything is potted up now in my monster 30l airpots.
I have noticed a couple of plants with very small yellow bits on the leaves.
Im trying not to panic too much... Any ideas people?

Perhaps just a bit of stress due to potting up and cold bloody water I think.
All the other plants look fine.

Update:
Ive got a few plants with little niggling issues.
Ive no real idea whats up but its suspected low temps at lights off, my large pots are contributing to my roots getting cold and me using fresh cold water on the initial potting up. That said things are not much better and not much worse I think... Its hard to say. Not ideal thats for sure.

Ive read loads of posts on problems and seen all the pictures. Im struggling so much because among all my 9 plants I seem to have every problem there is, well almost
I can see leaves curling, this could be heat. I can see some burn marks at the tips, this could be nute burn but Ive only used feed once, root stim and silicone twice at quarter what the bottle says. Ive got one plant that is mega dark green, fack know's what that is.

Anyway Im trying not to piss my pants and carry on.
Im hoping things just get better. Ive fed plain water tonight and PH adjusted it for the first time.

Ive done plenty of pictures, please feel free to shout up if you spot anything.

Lights now on 1000w - Went up in stages from 600w
20 hours on 4 off
28c lights on
Was 15 to 18 lights off - Now 22/23c as added an oil radiator

There was supposed to be 8 plants, I had one looking sick after popping out the soil.
I didn't have the heart to kill her, so she's in now for good
