Lighting My First Grow - Northern Lights Blue

Lol, when I first got the root stim I got the Mrs to sniff it and she knocked it out of my hand over the kitchen floor
Wonder how it smells when it's off? :-)

Nice Plant.

That's one of the clearest Magnesium problems I've seen.
What's the PH of your runoff?
I'll bet ya your soil is acidic.
Adding nutrients without flushing will cause a buildup causing the ph of your soil to drop.
Have you been flushing every 2 weeks?
How are you testing PH?

ALWAYS suspect PH FIRST Man.
Peace.

hey pal23 bud head here...those plants (post71) look sic, and I don't mean that in a good way! that's why I switched to bucket grows you can keep your plant in check real easy cause you changee the water every week, if they start to look bad you just change the water as far as trimming I'd wait untill they're healthy...be carefull adding so much stuff to try and 'correct' your grow ..could make it worse playing the guessing game, h202, epsom salts, bat gauno, horse manure, vinegar, old cabbage leaves or whatever you read/hear to add.....bucket grows my man! but untill then wishin you much 'bud' luck post some more pics and I see which leaves to cut

Hey man thanks for checking the grow out, I'm only using cheap PH strips right now so run off is always around 6 but as soon as my pen arrives I can check this more accurately.. I did initially suspect the PH but had no way of combatting it really other than using lemon juice to take the PH down on my feeds, and fed epsom salts to combat the mg deficiency. I've not flushed at all cos I'm using organic nutrients and I was advised against flushing? :peace:

I hear what you're saying about the bucket system bro your results do look great. Soil seems the most natural way to grow and I'm all for that especially since I'm just starting out - I'm hoping to move up in the world of growing but didn't wana dive in the deep end, I did all my research based around soil grows. I'll hold off on the trimming, it was literally just a side thought so I decided to read into the discussion - not sure what else I can do now to heal the other plant other than keep feeding epsom salts amongst other organic nutes. It's been a crazy ordeal trying to order my PH pen, first two got dispatched to the wrong address so I cancelled the order, found one on amazon which hasnt arrived and I've had to email them about it -.- It will get here at some point and I can finally get some accurate ph readings for you all :peace:

I could never get a acurate soil ph runoff reading and had lots of problems trying to 'figure' stuff out ...after talking with my hydro supplier he said go with the bucket grows everyone is doing it... so I gave it a shot and bingo and I always thought hydro was hard to grow ...simple stuff!

It's something to aim for, not even sure how the bucket system differs from hydro but I'll definitely look into it before my next grow begins :peace:

bucket system:
1- 5 gal bucket and nest $10
1 -small air pump and airator $20
1- high grade seed
nutrients and grow I mean go ......germinate your seed then put it in your nest wait for the root to hit the water and look out!..change water every week ...that's about it
