Reverse Auto flower into Photo period Selfing ?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I could reverse an auto flower into photoperiod crossing it with a feminised photoperiod, using STS at F1?
Assuming that the plant I would like as a mother is the auto and i will reverse the feminised.

Yes, you can reverse the auto and pollinate the photoperiod, or vice versa. Which you reverse probably doesn't matter in terms of the result, though reversing the photoperiod might be a little easier timing-wise.

When you cross an auto with a photoperiod, the first generation cross should be all photoperiods, but they'll have a hidden autoflowering gene that will pop up in roughly 25% of the second generation if you inbreed those (because some of the second generation will get the hidden auto gene from both parents). The numbers might be really skewed if you only grow a few plants, like how sometimes you flip a coin and get heads several times in a row, but as you grow more the overall proportions will eventually end up like that.

It makes sense, though. When growing for flower we only care about the traits expressed in female plants, and all-female breeding allows selecting for traits on both parents. When using males you have to grow out the offspring to see what traits the males are invisibly passing on.

Back on this topic I have now this question:

I need to pollinate 1 auto and 2 photo:
Could i grow the auto and flower them at 12/12?
Mainly for seed production. Would this affect the quality and quantity of seeds?

The autos should flower at 12/12 too. I haven't grown autos and photos together yet, but if there's enough light to satisfy the photos the auto should probably be fine.
