Hi everyone,been lurking here for about a month or so as I decided to have a go at growing my own.Im using a very basic setup which includes a wardrobe,200 watt dual cfl, standard desktop fan and a pc fan for exhaust.id say the grow measures about 1000mmx1000mm depth about 600mm.I recently planted a royal queen seeds northern lights auto fem directly into soil(verve john inns seed and cutting compost) took about 3 days to sprout above the soil,its been about 12 days so far and has 4 leaves and about an inch and 1/2 long(should it be taller?) the temp inside is always at 76 degrees and it seems to like it so far.I have also planted a bio diesel mass auto fem today,pics to follow soon

sounds right but thats a large plant for your space you may want to get a net in if its only 60cm high a larger light would also help
you will need some nutes if only in cutting compost soon

hi and thanks for your reply im sorry its a metre high a metre wide and 60cm front to back,I was going to use tomorite do you think this would be ok? also do you know if i have to change the compost after a certain amount of time or would it be ok as long as im adding nutes? many thanks

Thanks for the karma yea I understand that may be the case but the missus really wasnt to keen on me growing so we sort of came to an arrangement that I could as long as I didnt waste money on it! sooo I just tried to scrape together what I could for now,Her face was a picture when the light was delivered hopefully it will do for now thanks for your reply need every bit of help I can get

That soil seems to be real ideal for little ones. After about 3 weeks, you plants will be wanting more food than that soil will put out. What nutes are you using?

tomorite should be ok dont go full strength

you may have to add some trace elements if staying with cutting compost

you should probs start with cutting compost in a bottomless cup and use something like JI no.2 in the rest of the pot

maybe b&q purple verve may be better as its a bit lighter ji is a bit dense like sand
