Hello folks,
has anyone tried to exhaust the stale air in to the same room the grow tent is in.
If so, what were the results?
I tried it last grow and although I had decent yields, the potency was very poor.
Anyone had better results.
In my grow room I do not have a window.
The grow room is in the upper area of the house. There is a window in the next room about 7 metres away.
If I left this window open I would have access to fresh air, but I would be at the mercy of the elements and pests and mould.
I like in the north of the uk so humidity is high.

Would I be ok just to keep the window closed but keep the door leading to the upper part of the house open to allow fresh are to find it's way up there?
I am in and out of the house 10-15 times a day, so fresh air will be coming into the house when I open the door.

Thanks for reading and look forward to you're replies, as I would like to get something sorted, or I'll won't be able to grow anymore, as it is just not worth it.

I exhaust into the same room, I’ve sealed off the windows to help insulate from the heat outside. I keep the door to the room open about 50% of the time to exchange the air. Seems to be working out well. :pass:

Thanks for the reply @Frank the Dank , that's great to hear.

I have done both, into the same basement room that my "drobe" is in, and out through a window opening. Other than keeping the RH up by exhausting into the same room, I've never noticed any difference in growth, but I have never completed an entire grow with just one setup. I choose how to ventilate depending on whether I need the humidity, and since I grow in winter when the RH is typically too low, I usually exhaust inside.

Also, if you have a large grow in a small well sealed room, the plants could run low on CO2, just as they could in a tent with no exhaust.
Bottom line is that more ventilation is unlikely to harm your grow as long as RH stays in bounds, and more "fresh" air might ensure a better CO2 supply, but I can't tell you how these would balance in your case. So, if RH gets too high with the upstairs window open, I would keep it closed and encourage air exchange with the rest of the house. If otherwise, I would go with the window open (with screen to keep most of the bugs out).

Good luck with it. :goodluck::pighug:

I too vent into my grow room/den during the winter grow, it helps with heating and humidity of the room. And because it is my den/office/bedroom as well a grow room, the co2 does get rather elevated. I always have a carbon filter on my intake fan to preclude any pollen from getting to my girls, it seems like half the village has outdoor plants now that cannabis is legal here in ny.
