LST hooks

I just discovered garden staples lol
They seem to be good for the purpose. I just have one dubt. Could they harm the roots of the plant when they are put into the ground?

I’m not sure I always duct tape to the side of the pot and use soft string. It would be cool if a pot had hooks or loop holes all around the rim or something to tie or hook onto

I drill holes around the rim of my fabric pot and use zip ties to LST. Please know that I am on my first grow attempt, so this may not be sound advice lol

Hell yea

I've used straight wire I've bent at one end to a hook. I simply bend the stem
or branch and press the wire into the grow medium (I grow in soil) and hook over wood. Different lengths cover what's necessary.

They do seem the better option but how should I fasten them to my plastic pots?

Just drill holes around the brim. Me personally I would never stake anything inside the pot for worries of damaging roots plus it seems like it would just pull out

Roots haven't been much of an issue and if the wire pulls up I use a longer one. As well you are really just pruning a root which will grow back. And I don’t have to do anything to modify the pots by drilling, etc. Through five years of growing never a problem.

Also "read" your plant. It may lean one way that favors bending. Same with smaller branches. Don't be afraid to flex your plant. The goal to is lay your plant flat and to train branches so colas get the most exposure to light. SOG without the netting.

As you can see in the photos, I like a really severe bend that I slowly train into the main stem.
