Mephisto Genetics New Artisanal Strain: Forum Stomper

Strain name: Forum Stomper

Generation: F4

Type: Auto - Feminised

Genetic Heritage: Girl Scout Cookies Forum Cut x Sour Stomper F4

Project introduction and Overview:

Forum Stomper: We've been baking away!

Girl scout cookies has been at the top of the scene for some years now, with no end in sight yet. And whilst there's been several auto cookies variants available for awhile now too, we wanted to make 'THE' auto cookies.

We acquired both cuts and seeds to work through back in 2015 and settled on the forum cut as the one to utilise. We made a couple of crosses to her using different auto parents, and we found the sour stomper cross to be the most complimentary.

The resulting strain is a real grease monkey, perhaps, dare we say it, the stickiest frostiest mephisto variety to date?! keep your eyes peeled too as we're set to use Forum stomper in a bunch of new projects beginning later in 2018.
Whilst it will definitely take a bx and futher four generations of breeding to really lock the original strain traits down in auto format, we're really pleased with the colouration, flower formations, aromas, effects and growth patterns in our GSC version, the quality is also next level. She's a super sassy gal and a really unique autoflower.

It's hard to pick which new artisanal strain is our favourite but if you're new to Mephisto this strain is definitely worth putting in your garden!

Strain behaviour and structure:

Forum Stomper is pretty easy to grow, go easy with nutrients early on, let her get established and she'll soon reward you with some ultra frosty flowers. As a rule of thumb forum stomper will easily produce multiple cola's given space and a good environment, this can be further encouraged with some light leaf tucking and some clearing out of lower and inner growth. This small effort will be of extra benefit to ensure all energy and production goes to the primo places.

Forum Stomper generally has two phenotypes A) a slighty shorter stockier plant with a more typical shape of main cola and decent secondaries surrounding her. These make longer colas with tighter internodes and the bud to plant ratio is quite epic! Overall we'd class this type as a medium size with a solid structure not requiring support.

Another phenotype B) has emerged that likes to branch and bush to where it can be difficult to find the 'main'. This is the phenotype we've utilised throughout each stage of the breeding process, which we coined in house as 'branches on branches. This phenotype is substantially larger with a stretchier more 'og' like growth pattern however it's totally manageable. This girl grows a plateau of multiple frosty tops, if you land one of these you're in for a real treat too. It will however be towards the slower end of the spectrum, pushing towards 75 days from sprout in our environment.

Both pheno's present very unique flowers that have had several visits from jack frost, She is also a true stinker, a sassy dirty dank girl with a rich potent nose that contains traces of mint and deep exotic stanky aromas.

She has an average veg time before entering the flowering cycle, frost development comes on pretty early and stacks from there. She has an average finish time in the spectrum of our catalogue circa 65-70 days from sprout.

fugue state strain image.jpg

Mephisto Genetics New Artisanal Strain: Fugue State

Strain name: Fugue State

Generation: F4

Type: Auto - Feminised

Genetic Heritage: Amnesia Haze Bx1 (Archive Seeds) x Walter White F5

Project introduction and Overview:

Fugue State: A Mephisto Twist on a modern classic.

Amnesia is a strain that's been held in very high regard for a long time, and with good reason too! Great growth, high yielding, a strong effect, which equals a high grade headstash with commercial applications. She has a lot of positives to say the least. Although nearly everyone offers an amnesia or amnesia haze in their line up, take a look at ours :)

We acquired several packs of Amnesia haze bx1 from Archive seeds back in 2015-2016 and without much delay got to popping them to see what we uncovered. We did this simultaneously again several amnesia cuts we'd ran, from elite versions to the local cut, we made seeds with all using our walter white as the pollen donor. When growing out the F1's the most consistent and quality plants were emerging from the Archive cross, we made our selection and continued on from there.

Another reason for this project was that we felt our catalogue was in need of more sativa options and we wanted to make an ultra high quality sativa strain to work to more future sativas. Walter white has been a firm favourite in the Mephisto house for a long time, it also has a dinstinct aroma and flavour profile that shared similarities with amnesia so we felt they would be a match made in heaven and we weren't wrong!

Fast forward 2 years and we are finally ready to drop our Amnesia/walter project: Fugue state. An easter egg for the Breaking Bad fans out there when Walter 'had amnesia'.

We're really stoked with the growth pattern and standout quality of Fugue state, Our walter white has added another level of resin to an already frost-ridden specimen!

For the sativa heads that want to get up to some day time mischief, this strain is the ticket. But also, buyer beware, don't over indulge as she will put you on your ass.

Enjoy!

Strain behaviour and structure:

Fugue state is a sativa dominant strain that grows with very nice vigour. She forms a branchy open structure quickly, and as she works through her cycle her leaves become more slender and fine with sharp serrations on the leaves.

Despite the sativa traits she's fast flowering and matures quickly with bulk to boot, akin to something like C99. We're really happy how she's tranferred into an autoflowering variety, she will veg/pre-flower and stretch to around day 35-40 from sprout but then transitions hard into flower.

The flowers she produces are sizeable, with a compact density and adorned with white frost. Basically she's a lovely automatic spectacle to grow and witness developing on a daily basis.

She grows with a sativa structure and medium sized internodal gaps, devoid of much foliage her sparse leaves allow light to penetrate down and fill out lower flowers.

Fugue state is an adaptable plant that lends well to different training methods, however there's not always the need to go to crazy, and some light pruning of lower branches and lower fluff in combination with a few sessions of leaf tucking really spreads her bud mass across her full structure very nicely indeed.

Generally we've seen good mould and pest resistance, however if she grows a really dominant thick main cola, please take steps to ensure really good airflow and lower humidity as mould could be an issue in a really thick and dense main cola.

Fugue state progresses very quickly over the last few weeks, she will transition from a lot of white pistils on the flowers where you might be wondering how much longer she will go, to done! Quickly. Fugue state *may* also need support in these later stages.

Overall Fugue state is a really nice variety, not difficult to grow, productive, high class flowers that satisfy the full spectrum of growers, she gives commercial yields of a connoisseur headstash, just like the amnesia we started with.

Strain figures and info in brief:

orange diesel strain image.jpg

Mephisto Genetics New Artisanal Strain: Orange Diesel

Strain name: Orange Diesel

Generation: F4

Type: Auto - Feminised

Genetic Heritage: Orange Diesel V3.0 (Lady Sativa Genetics) x S.O.D.K (Sour Orange Diesel Kush)

Project introduction and Overview:

Orange Diesel: An orangey diesely affair.

S.O.D.K (Sour Orange Diesel Kush) is one of first Mephisto Originals strains, and to this day one of our favourites to grow. S.O.D.K is Sour Orange Diesel from Lady Sativa Genetics mated to our triangle kush during the photo to auto process and then taken to fruition as a full automatic project. We wanted to refine the strain further and use it as a parent for a brand new artisanal strain. We thought it a grand idea to search out a diesel or orange strain to outcross to again in order to make an improved and stable strain with common heritage. We reached out to the lads at Lady Sativa and they very graciously offered us a few packs of their award winning strain ODV3 to work with. So we'll say an extra thanks for that, and if anyone's looking for some photoperiod fire for their garden you shouldn't hesitate and check them out.

The ODV3's when grown out to make the F1's and F2's were all very uniform, tight silver greasy buds with the distinct diesel aroma we know and love with a dousing of orange peel aroma, the plants were consistently deep green with a beautiful sheen.

Orange Diesel at both F3 and F4 have been also consistently awesome!
The plants produce tight and solid aromatic nugs of the finest quality with a split diesel and orange citrus aroma, they aren't the fastest from this new release but the ease of growth and end product are absolutely worth the wait. So don't sleep on this strain!.

Strain behaviour and structure:

Orange Diesel is a fairly stress free automatic to grow, she begins her cycle looking deep green and predominantly indica with an average healthy growth rate, however once established she transforms quite dramatically taking off quickly, and can easily triple in size with very nice branching. Those branches thicken up and reach up high becoming a dominant part of the plant. With a good environment and seeing good growth she's a good candidate to train, however even if left untouched the bud to plant ratio is very good. Overall we would classify her as a medium sized variety.

Orange Diesel has a very special aroma which develops and shifts throughout the life cycle, from early on you can pick out sweet citrus hints and as flowers progress they have a much more stinky diesel twist.
She does start flowering quite slowly, however she keeps adding to her frame putting on size stretching, and in the final few weeks she packs on a lot of mass creating high density flowers.

Harvesting and trimming is an easy process, fans don't get too sticky so they can be pulled leaving the bare frame and solid resinous buds that are simple to remove and manicure. End bag appeal is really nice and you're left with a super tasty stinky product to reward you for your care.

Orange Diesel is a strain we'd highly recommend, Decent sized, good yielding, consistent through and through, and beautiful quality.

Strain figures and info in brief:

Indica/Sativa: 60/40

In good conditions she will deliver -

Cycle time: 70-80 days

Size: 60-90cm Height/Width 40-60cm

Yield: 75-100g as a single plant grow

Best method for overall high yield: 9 per 1.2x1.2 space in 15 liter pots under a 600w - 500g is obtainable.

Aroma and flavour: Pungent Strong Diesel aroma with a citrus twist and earthy taste with zest on the exhale.

Effect: Happy and uplifted which evolves into a dreamy relaxing high.

Best grown: Indoor/greenhouse/outdoor

Flower Density: 8.5/10

Cannabinoids: TBA

Medicinal qualities: Good for treating stress, depression and pain.

Further info:

Ease of grow - 8/10 - A Straightforward strain!

Strawberry nuggets strain image.jpg

Mephisto Genetics New Artisanal Strain: Strawberry Nuggets

Strain name: Strawberry Nuggets

Generation: F4

Type: Auto - Feminised

Genetic Heritage: Sour Strawberry Kush (Bog Seeds) x 24 Carat F3 - Pink Pheno.

Project introduction and Overview:

Sour Strawberry Kush: An ode to BOG and Elite Automatics

This is a project that's been a long time in the making, we wanted to make a new strain from scratch using 24 carat as the autoflower parent. 24 carat was the first Mephisto project that we completed way back in 2012/2013 so we hold it very close to our hearts. Usually it takes a lot of deliberation, combing through the internet and grow journals, as well as testing and growing out many strains to find our breeding project candidates, but this time we instantly knew where to go for some fire genetics. BOG. For anyone that hasn't grown out any BOG gear, some classic trademarks are dense dense flowers always coated in sticky white frost with unique aromas to boot.

Sour strawberry kush stood out immediately as the girl to look to, afterall who dislikes strawberries?! who dislikes kush?, who dislikes sours? It sounded perfect.

When we first developed 24 carat, whilst still in the regular stage there were 3 distinct phenotypes split by colour, a green (which later became the mainstay for 24 carat) pink, and purple.
The pink pheno held a delicate balance between potency and having an exotic edge to it, so we delved through our MG breeding stock to ressurect the pink regs to use to cross into the Sour Strawberry kush and begin working from there.

At each subsequent generation we've selected for plants with an abundance of resin, subtle pink hues and a delectible skunky strawberry flavour and aroma. Having genetics in common the Sour Strawberry kush and 24 carat have blended together exceptionally well and the resulting strawberry nuggets is a delight to grow and toke.

From the first release of 2018 Mephisto artisanal strains it's hard to go wrong with the Strawberry nuggets, we're not a hype machine but this lady is well worth checking out. Say no more.

Strain behaviour and structure:

Strawberry nuggets is a thick short afghan girl, she grows at a good rate incorporating a fat main stem and hardy branches. She produces thick green foliage and some of the widest fan leaves from anything we offer, read; dinner plates!

She loves loves to bush and often will end up as wide or wider than she is tall. Strawberry nuggets does take some maintenance whilst growing to see the best results and yield. As a minimal we would recommend several spells of leaf tucking to encourage the inner shoots to get out of the traps and race away. Due to her thickness she isnt the easiest to train but it's definitely possible.

Strawberry nuggets transitions into her flowering cycle quickly so it's imperitive that she gets a good start in the best environment. She develops thick white frost from early on and this frost builds and builds as she progresses.

The flowers formed have a VERY high density so it's also essential to ensure good airflow and a low humidity level around her from mid-flower onwards.

She's good for a low density SOG, we have ran her in house always at 9 plants per light without issue.

From our testing strawberry nuggets has several phenotypes that have differing level of colours, you can get pure green through to subtle pink hues then further ranging to pinks and colouration bleeding into the flower leaves, and rarer still we have had pure purple phenotypes emerging at a rate of about 1 in 10.

She's a magical little plant to grow, with exotic fruity smells eminating from her combined with the high quality golf ball-esque flowers. The resulting harvest gives dense nuggetry super high in bag appeal, aroma, looks, effect, terpenes this strain ticks a lot of boxes.

She's harvestable from 65 days from sprout in most environments meaning you can have a quick turn around of superb quality meds.

Strain figures and info in brief:

Indica/Sativa: 85/15

In good conditions she will deliver -

Cycle time: 65-75 days

Size: 40-60cm Height/Width 50-70cm

Yield: 60-90g as a single plant grow

Best method for overall high yield: 9 per 1.2x1.2 space in 12 liter pots under a 600w - 500g is obtainable.

Aroma and flavour: Sweet succulent strawberry, with berry undertones and a dank sour skunky edge

Effect: Medicinal, narcotic predominantly indica 'in da couch'

Best grown: Indoor

Flower Density: 9.5/10

Cannabinoids: TBA

Medicinal qualities: High medicinal qualities, eases sleep, aches and pains and appetite inducing.

Further info:

Ease of grow - 6/10 - Plant management is often required to extract the best yields, being a shorter faster strain she can stunt if not given a good environment in the early growth stages.

Aroma level whilst growing - 7.5/10 High - Odour control a must.

Trim ease - 9.5/10 - Super easy, you can race through big yields of the SN in no time.

Frost Level - 9.5/10 Lashings of frost on flowers and fan leaves.

Bag Appeal - 10/10 Thick dense sparkly nuggets, combined with beautiful aromas and colouration (depending on phenotype)

After Cure Aroma level - 7/10 - Cure this well and you'll be rewarded with complex aromas.

Potency - 8/10 High potency levels, this is not an amateur smoke.

Concentrate info - 9/10 A great little hash plant Rich in terps ideal for rosin, live resin and bubble hash.

Overall Mephisto rating - 9.5/10 - A firm favourite at the MG hq.

Yo, if ya order them, always have them and can do any time. If really wanna start tomorrow go ahead drop a skywalker. Never grown her, but it’s @mephisto and you can never go wrong with Mephisto. I know probably heard that a lot, including on AFN. But as a fellow AFNer, we say it for a reason, lol.
