Organic Mary Jane featuring Fastbuds, Seedstockers, SSSC, Female Seeds and biotabs

Equipment list as follows
  • 1x1x2m grow tent. I also have a closet that measures 50x90x170cm.
  • Both are lit using hps and both have extractor fans and filters. I don't remember the specs! A tower fan and several clip on fans are used for circulation.
  • 50/50 Coco and Perlite with 2in perlite at bottom of autopots
  • 15l autopot and 12l air pruner fabric pots (unless specified otherwise)
  • Full biotabs line- Starter kit, Silicium Flash, Boom boom spray, Bio PK 5-8
  • Seeds popped in pure coco watered with worm cast tea
  • Plants watered with plain tap water left for 24hrs minimum. No pH check
All will be using the full biotabs range. They will remain in the cups for 7-10 days or until i can see the roots at the bottom. I will water with diluted worm cast tea. They were watered today and are under a humidity dome so should not need any more water. That's the reason they start their lives in little cups as I tend to overwater and stunt them otherwise. This way is more hands off for me. I don't have to look at them for a couple days and by the time I do, they are ready to move into their forever home and more able to withstand my watering! Actually, that is where the autopots come into their own! When I put them into the autopots at 7-10 days, I don't water for another 7-10 days. By that time it's usually time to turn on the reservoir! But more on that later!

Germination pics of Fastbuds Orange sherbet (red flag), OG Amnesia haze (green spike) and Wedding Cheesecake (green and yellow stripe). The orange sherbet will be my battle plant and is going in an autopot. The others will be in 12l fabric pots.

See you all next update when all will be in their final homes!

Day 14 veg

I'm marking today as day 14 just to make things easier for me. It's not. It's day 16, day 15, day 14, day 13 and day 12:rolleyes1: so just for ease, I'm taking a median and calling it day 14! All other dates in this journal will follow these dates for ease.

We've had a few developments since my last update. The plants were all put into their final pots and have been there for 7 days now. They were pot up on day "6" and hit with boom boom spray which I'm sure was a little bit too much for a few. Some seemed to have handled the rough treatment better than others. The ones who bounced back quickest from being repot were "fimmed" on day 10. I usually do a first topping between days 14-21, but thought I'd try something different this time. The new growth is different to what I'm used to but it's cute!

Here is a group shot of all plants potted in their final homes. They all look so teeny and vulnerable!

Fastbuds
Unfortunately wedding cheesecake who was so unproblematic just gave up the ghost. No warning at all, I just woke up one day and saw her slumped over:sadcry:.20200510_080027.jpg

I popped another seed straight into the large pot full of biotabs! I probably shouldn't have but digging it out was not an option. I have no idea if it will be too hot. Or even if it's possible for biotabs to be too hot. Spoke to Kees at biotabs and he said while it's not ideal, it should be ok. Technically! We'll see!20200511_074525.jpg

Orange Sherbet was tiny and I think a little bit stunted after her surgery. She has grown a little bit but not as well as her sisters. It's still early days yet and she hasn't given up so I'm not giving up on her. I'm not one to give up on any of my babies so easily. Here's a pic of my sweetheart still in the game!20200511_150521.jpg

OG Amnesia Haze is my heartbeat right now! She's just so beautiful! She was fimmed on day 10 and hasn't skipped a beat. Her branching is bomb and she's going to be a dream to train! I know parents aren't supposed to have favourites but.....
Here is her on day 13 after getting a shot of boom boom

Here is her a 24 hours later. She gets more than one pic because she's the fave!

Seedstockers
Cookies and cream settled into her autopot and is doing well. She was fimmed on day 10 and hasn't skipped a beat.

Gelato 41 was also fimmed on day 10. It seems like it was more of a topping for her, but I'm not fussed as she's still branching.
Day 13 before boom boom
20200510_150055.jpg
24 hours later. Look at how much she's grown in 24 hours :yoinks: If she wasn't my daughter, I'd never have believed.

Sherbet is my sweetheart out of the Seedstockers group! She's a little older as she wasn't intended to be a biotabs plant. She was to be fed on biobizz but after grabbing guerilla tabs in the 420 sale, I figured why not. Guerilla tabs are half the dose of the biotabs so I figured would be great for my smaller grows and the greens I have in pots that require fertiliser, but not much. Sooooo Sherbet was put in a partially filled 3l with guerilla tabs, topped at day 14 and battered with boom boom spray. It is now day 21 and look at herrrrrr! She deserves to be in a big pot but I think I love her the most in this little one!

SSSC
The lava freeze was pot up at 3 days and took a bit of time to recover. But She's finally starting to show some growth up top so I know she was taking time to do some growing down below. She's had a rough start with me so I know it's only a matter of days before she starts to show her beauty.

24 hours later. You can see the little teeny stretch!

Pineapple Poison was fimmed on day 10 and is gorgeous. She just seems so lanky. I'm looking forward to twisting her all over the place!

Female Seeds
Mimosa Champagne has been a dream! She was the second youngest at transplant only a day older than Lava Freeze, but you couldn't tell. She was as big as plants 4 days older than her. She hit the ground running and has not halted since. She was fimmed at day 10

The girls are doing ok. They are growing well and all in all, despite a few niggles, I'm happy. Here is a group shot of all together before boom boom

Day 21 veg

Following on from the last date change/update, today is day 21 of veg. This update is two days in the making, so irl it's day 23. The plants are all ticking along nicely. No major developments which is great! I didn't do before and after boom boom pics this week as I really couldn't be bothered!

Fastbuds

As you can remember from the last update, Wedding Cheesecake passed on to the ganja gods and I popped a new one into the hot pot full of biotabs! Stoner moment  Kees from Biotabs said while it was not ideal, she should be ok. Lo and behold
20200519_153338.jpg

She's so cute! I love to see them little and cute like this! She looks tiny in comparison to the pebbles but she'll soon show them! Lol!

Orange Sherbet is still stuck :rolleyes1:
20200519_153352.jpg

So annoying. she's shown no movement up top and is really frustrating me but I refuse to give up on any one of my babies. I have accepted the fact that she's dead and it's only a matter of time before she keels over! However, until she keels over, she stays put! The minute she gives up the ghost baby girl Ammy will take her spot!

OG Amnesia Haze is still my sweetheart out of the bunch!
20200519_153619.jpg

She has accepted all the bad treatment I've dished out without complaint! She has been the least problematic of my Fastbuds baby and has received the most brutal treatment for her troubles! She has had a branch broken by me this week but doesn't really look worse for it! The branch propped under the clothes peg I broke before snapping this pic. I've propped it in the hopes she'll repair, but I doubt it. It looked to be wilting when I closed the tent. PSA: Never train plants after getting fresh nail extensions! I knew it was a bad idea, but my obsession for plant bondage wouldn't let me leave her alone! She's still beautiful and I will find a way to squish her fabric pot into the autopot tray once Orange Sherbet decides wtf she's doing!
*disclaimer* I'm still on lockdown. Did my nails myself with an ebay polygel kit. Thanks Royal Mail for keeping me beautiful!!!!!!

Seedstockers

Cookies and Cream was also a victim of my heavy hand!
20200519_153449.jpg

But look at that branching coming through! I'll have plenty to train to fill in that space!

Gelato is also doing well!
20200519_153458.jpg

She has a little mechanical damage to a few leaves but as you probably know by now, I'm a lil rough on my girls! That damage either came from a spike or a peg. I don't care and she doesn't seem to either!

Sherbet is still doing her thing in her lil 3l pot!
20200519_153746.jpg

Sorry for the pic being a lil blurry. She also got a broken branch this week although you can barely tell. She's started flashing her lil hairs at me, cheeky mare! So the flower show will start soon. I'll just keep beating her into submission until then.

SSSC

THIS is why I never give up on a plant!
20200519_153437.jpg

Look at my baby lava freeze grow! I fimmed her the day before this pic but she was already showing signs of lateral branching. I probably could've left her alone but nahhhhh! I can't wait to really get my hands on her and really start training!

Pineapple Poison is growing fast

20200519_153406.jpg

Leaves are yellowing slightly, but I'm aware that this can happen with biotabs in the beginning as the beneficials start to develop to feed the plant. All the other plants are fine. This one just seems to be a little fussy. Never mind!

Female Seeds
You can't see her straw in this shot, but this is Mimosa Champagne.

20200519_153424.jpg

Not much to say about this little lady. She's doing her thing and reponding really well to being trained!

Comments

All babies have popped their heads up this morning! :yay: Wedding cheesecake and Lava freeze popped up yesterday. Wedding cheesecake is doing well so far and has her first true set of leaves coming out already. Lava freeze is a little slower as she still had her seed case on this morning. Performed a hat removing procedure on Lava freeze and Orange Sherbet so hopefully they revive well. The other seeds (with the exception of Mimosa champagne which was planted 2days later) have their seed leaves out catching the sun!

Also received dispatch confirmation of my 420 sale biotabs order. I ordered the Silicium Flash amongst some other bits so will be using the "water only" method. Which is even more perfect for my lazy af style of growing!

I'm excited to see how biotabs do on my scotch bonnet and Carolina reaper this season! I've only ever used chilli focus in the past and got amazing results, so let's see how much more yummy my hot sauce tastes organic this year! I may even put tabs in my chard pots to see if I can get bigger leaves that way too!

Annnnddddd we're off! Officially! Here's a pic of the nursery which is sited on my windowsill! The longer summer hours and mild weather means that my windowsill has been the perfect place for gemination.

Unlike the Fastbuds Orange Sherbet, the SSSC Lava Freeze did not recover from the seed shell removal. It dried up later that day so I put another one in coco. Lava Freeze spent a whole day with the shell stuck on as I gave it the opportunity to correct itself. Had I removed it when first spotted, I feel that it would have survived. The new Lava Freeze is in the cup with the bottle on top, today is it's day 1.

The Mimosa champagne (Pink Straw) is 3 days old today, the others are 4 days old. They are the cutest little babies and are growing well. Today is the first day that I have removed the humidity dome, and they've done fine in the ambient room temps. They all received their first feed except for LF who is still way too young. I'll pot up at the weekend into their final homes.
