The Spice - 'Biscotti' x 'The Whip'
Special Limited Edition 1000pk drop
Here is what i was able to glean from the website:
(start quote)"
Type: Indica/Sativa Hybrid Feminized
Lineage: Biscotti x The Whip! (reversed)
Yield: Average to Above Average
Flower Time: 7-8 Weeks
about:
Straight from “The Refinery” at Twenty20, this strain was developed for all you gas lovers out there! The complex terpene profile can only be explained as a melange of pungent spices directly from the kitchen cabinet; Most notably anise, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. This is one of those rare situations where bag appeal, yield, fragrance, and potency all join together in a force to be reckoned with.
msg from breeder:
Immediately after our first experiments with biscotti, we knew the perfect match for her. Biscotti scores a home run in the terpene category but proved to be lacking in potency, bag appeal and yield. We also found her to be lacking viability in commercial greenhouse cultivation. We experimented by crossing the biscotti with one of our chosen males of the whip. The results were mind-boggling. Super uniform phenotypes with thick oozing trichomes, and nauseating gaseous aromas that fill every corner of every room of a house. The phenotypic variation on this strain is about as low as we have ever seen before.
From the Grower:
A uniform, robust, fast flowering version of biscotti is the best way to explain this strain. Compared to the Biscotti, The Spice ripens a week or two faster, it yields one and a half times more, and it is much more resistant to mold and fungal pathogens. Expect an average amount of stretch and an average amount of required trellising. The strain has proven to do great
in greenhouses and indoor and is currently undergoing full term outdoor tests for
the 2020 season.

I cant WAIT to see what this baby has under her hood! they said this is the MOST stable, phenotypically, out of all the strains they have ever bred, so we are guaranteed to get a keeper out of a 10pk. I'm popping them a few at a time, out of one 10 pk, and keeping the other put up. Word on the streets is shes HOT HOT HOT. They only put out 1000 packs of her, PERIOD. It's feminized, and they said they might put out a regs run later on in the year, but there's no guarantee. I got this pretty lady from Neptune seed bank, and they had a freebie with it, from the breeder, that was only given to Neptune. It's their namesake strain, they say. It's called MMXX. In words, I think, not number, but STILL. lol. I have not popped any of the freebie strain yet, but I have of The Spice, and within 2 hours in water, they were already starting to sprout out, so I'm super stoked. I got them immediately into my coco/potters gold mix, and I will update as soon as I see green! ( I DID also end up popping TWO of the MMXX. one about 2-3 wks after the other. i thought at first the one wasnt going to make it, but she was quite a trooper, and now she's into her 2nd week of flowering as I write this, and shes keeping pace with her Spice sisters.)

light details/Feeding Guidelines - *ENTIRE SCHEDULE WITH NOTES*
I copied this from my Onenote notebook, because I thought it would be nice to keep the entire feeding schedule on one page, just in case anyone was really interested in exactly what I was feeding my plants. I think its annoying to have to sift through many pages to be able to write things down. sometimes you miss things, or get it out of order. If there is ANY sort of anomaly, or a one-time feeding/treatment, I will put it on the corresponding page. Any illnesses, any training/defoliation, or any re-potting/moving, will also go on an individual page. Every plant is different, and they will uptake differently, so I was not as exact with the vegetative as I was with the flowering. Strain depends a lot on how things do especially in the first month or two. These babies are all uniform, beautifully stacked, and VERY hungry. I have high hopes for my girls here.
Also, I wanted to mention that I give a bi-monthly treatment of Green Cleaner, as a preventative for powdery mildew and any pests. It seems to work wonderfully. I don't have trouble often. I use a powered atomizer, and mix 3.5ml per liter of filtered water. Yes, the actual name of the brand is Green Cleaner. it is branded as a miticide, but is also used in a weak mix as a PM treatment/preventative. It is OMRI listed, and is supposed to be OK up to day of harvest, though I do not go anywhere near that long with it.
For ALL of my nutrients, I follow the guidelines on the package for dosing. I mix my feed by the gallon, so i can have a more accurate feed, and so i can keep shaking as i go, and things don't sink to the bottom. Some of these nutrients can be heavy, or hard to mix - ESPECIALLY THE SILICA! it doesnt say this on the package, i do not believe, but to properly get the silica to dissolve, you need to first put about 1/2 to 1 cup of water in a gallon jug, then put in the silica. shake the CRUD out of it, till it looks foamy even though its just water (you know, so shook up there are bubbles everywhere) it's HARD to break down, and if you put it in a full gallon that already has other chemicals in it, then its going to make it harder to break it down consistently. After you shake it to pieces, you can fill the gallon up with water, shake again, and proceed. I like to start with about a half a gallon of water, and add one nutrient at a time, shaking well and adding a little bit more water each time until the gallon is full. When i use cal-mag, I ALWAYS add it first, and shake it up really well before I add anything else.
cal mag is pretty uniform no matter where you are getting it, I think. Its all up to what you like. I've used several brands over the years, though I have stuck with the Sensi line for a long time now. They seem to do great, and 'if it ain't broke don't fix it', right? lol. The Trinity comes from Roots Organics, and the Recharge comes from Realgrowers. the recharge is a myco soil treatment, and the trinity is a superfood boost. They make a great combo, with cal-mag, for re-potting/cuttings/moving to prevent/mitigate stress .
Here are the details I found for the lights I am using for these plants. There are two Viparspectra Pro Series 1000's.
Any questions, post them to this page. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to this World!
Here are the pretty litle girls. There are 3 of them, and also one strain called 'MMXX' that I got as a freebie. Due to time constraints, I have desided to just keep her here next to her cousins, so we can just see how the whole seed purchase is going to grow out.
They are planted in 2 gal pots, and are in a 50-50 mix of potter's gold and coco. They will be getting my standard photo feed schedule, which can be found in any of my completed photo grow journals, as a single page. I'll get it in this one as soon as I have a second.
..............
<--- my #1 choice so far. 2x the size.
<------ #'s 2 & 3
<-------=-this is the 'MMXX' strain,
that he said was his namesake strain for the entire company, so I think its going to be something special, if its got that designation.

d35-40 VEG photos
So shes going prett steady at this rate. She's just a little over 2ft tall (check out the photo with the bamboo pole in it. thats a 2ft pole, and its even with her top. I HAVE topped both of them. I want them to stay below a certain size, and I have no idea how these ladies are going to stretch. MAN does she have some of the biggest fans I have EVER SEEN! the things are bigger than my HEAD. I could probably wrap one all the way around and touch the same ear front and back with both ends of the fingers. the photo above is the biggest leaf on the Spice. I have two of them growing, and I can tell so far they are EXTREMELY similar. you can tell the genetics have been well worked, and I'm starting to be able to see what the breeder was going for with these lovelies. The stems are thick, and strong, and the leaves have strong stems as well. I have high hopes for her being able to hold herself up. One of the most annoying things to me is a plant that cant hold its own branches up, and I am glad i dont seem to have to worry about that here. Her branch spacing/nodes are VERY uniform, coming even with their partner, and doesnt have branches just growing out of everywhere sideways like some. I really, really like her. AND her sisters, who are going into another journal. Its been slow going getting the journals posted up In between technical disasters (of the computer kind) and school slapping me upside the head, getting the photos on the internet has not been easy. BUT things are starting to ease up now, and I can finally get these puppies on here. I will show the smaller spice first, and the larger one second. One is older by a day or so, but it is very hard to tell. one's leaves are just a tiny tiny bit smaller, thats all. And I cant even promise you thats the younger one. BEAUTIFUL genetics. You can tell real care was taken with them. My new favorite breeder, and im not even exaggerating.
start of flowering
So here is the entire lineup of The Spice, that I popped, and one of the MMXX freebies (I really love her size, stature. ) There are three Spice. Two are like twins. same size, same stature. And they are in the same sized pots. But #1 now, the one with the HUGE fan leaves. she is a giant in all directions, for real. I saw not too long after I took her 40d photos that she needed a transplant badly, because she was growing so fast. I put her in one of my favorite pots for growing large plants, a square 5 gallon. sadly the warrior pot was already taken up, but i know im going to want to put her in it next round. (yes, i've not even flowered her, and im already contemplating keeping her in the closet. ) She is taller than I am and about twice as wide. Her fans get just as large. I took these photos after I did a trim of her, because otherwise we would not have been able to see the structure underneath. but if you tought she had large fans before, you would pop your eyes out of your head at the size of the fans coming off of her. You can see how tall she is below. I wish i could grid her out, i think she would do well with it, but I want to see how she stretches first.
...
............this is the topping point----->.
I had to , I have height restrictions with the tents i use. If i hadn't she would be well above the top of the tent by now, and i would have to cut her anyways. But she recovered VERY quickly. Matter of fact, I havent had a single hiccup out of her, or ANY of Twenty20's strains. They take what I give them feed-wise with no problems whatsoever, and they did not even suffer from transplant shock, the ones i transplanted. I went in there the next morning and they were ready to go. Her two sisters could be her smaller twins, but they are both exactly the same, so far. I'm wondering if all the differences in pheno are in the buds, because they are very uniform so far. Even between the strains, there is a certain uniformity. You can tell they all came from the same house, in other words.
Here are her two smaller sisters:
..........

They are under Viparspectra pro series quantum boards, the 1000s - light details will be updated into the feeding guidelines page. They have made a HUGE difference in yeilds with some of my other strains, so i cant wait to give these girls a chance to go at it with my best lights. As with the rest of twenty20s gear, they are right on schedule with their feedings, exactly where they should be on the posted schedule, so please refer any questions to that page, so i can answer whatever is not in there. Other than that, there is not much to say about these beauties, so I will leave this off. They are looking GOOD for their first week in flower. Week two is next.

MMXX wk 1 flowering
So there's not much else to say about her, other than that she is a bit smaller than her spicey sister. She is still very similar to the AOG I have going in the other tent, though. I am still having a hard time telling some of these apart, though it is easier now that I have them in seperate tents. this plants sister is in the vegetation room. She is a couple of weeks younger than her sister, and so she is going to go into flower with the Girl Crush and AOG, in the next week (current date, not date of photos. I am writing this a couple of weeks behind the pics)
I cant wait to see what starts to happen when they are all flowering. So here she is as she was when i first put her into her flowering tent. She is still only about 2.5-3ft tall. Still shorter than the shortest Spice, which is in a 2gal square pot. Her feed is switched to flowering, and it went off without a hitch. BEAUTIFUL plants. I cant say that enough.

SPICE - wk 2 flower
can you see how much the spice girls have grown since i put them into flower two weeks ago! I am shocked at the height they are getting too. especially the giant one in the big pot. the other two have been in the same pots their whoe lives. i wanted to see if it really made a difference in size, and i think i have my answer. dont you guys? the other two Spices are on milk crates, to get even with the other one. and its STILL getting taller!
So even just 10-14 days into her flower, she is already thickening up, her foliage is deepening in color, and she's starting to stretch just a little bit. I think i put Big 'Un in the 5 gallon at the right time. you can already see extensive growth. just look in the last page and you will see that shes gained inches in just a week. Her feed is right on time, fully switched over to her bloom feed, and LOVIN it. I'm already worried about her reaching the light, and getting burnt. I may have to train her over, break her stalk, or trim it off, if I dont want her to grow above the light. I can only get it so high! and she's already been topped. I like to do as little training as possible the right time around with a new strain, because i want to see wht im working with, but i do have certain height/size limitations, and i have to consider those when i get a giant like Spice here.
these photos above are BEFORE her last defoliation. She just exploded with growth after i switched her lights, and so i had to trim her down, or she would havfe ended up a larf-city. I think. But below i posted up her after photos. all sites that would have just sucked energy off of her are gone now, and so are anything with damage, anything not getting enough light, and the rest is going to give us a monster harvest, methinks! Here she is after her haircut (you can see my old Tastee LED there in the back. its an old light, pretty much just there for supplemental lighting, so i have not included its stats in the light graph.)
and last but not least, here are her two sisters, the mini-Spice twins. like miniature versions of the big one.

She's definitely shorter than her cousin, but she's got a smellier stem-rub on her. I really like the way she's smelling, and im really hoping that touch of rawness gets stronger, and doesn't tend towards lemon. Not that its a bad terp, just not my favorite. It is one of the more popular ones, though, so y'all may like it if it does turn out to be so. I'm' noticing that so far all 4 of the Twenty20 strains are a lot alike in their stature, and growth pattern so far. I'm not sure if its because the breeder is looking for similar things in all of the strains, to get that good filling out, or if it's partially because of a similarity of genetics? though i don't really think they are THAT similar, so i am leaning more towards that the breeder really knows what he's looking for in a good cultivar. I'm pleased so far with the results!

Week 3 flower Spice
so the Spice are doing quite well this past Week.two out of 3are staying more Stocky, Not too much spacing between nodes, And I'm already seeing the start of resin tacos all through the buds. The 3rd one is A Monster. She is A VERY tall plant, with generous spacing. I think she's going to give me some Nice, golf ball snapped nuggets . the smell is out of this world, too! It runs the entire spice rack in stages, from nutmeg &clove, through Allspice, to cumin & black pepper.finishing off w/ a hint of raw funk. I have confidence that rankness is going to get much stronger over the next few WeekS. We will see, wont we?
As faras feed goes, they are rolling Along wonderfully. No deficiencies, nothing.Small one takes about a half gallon at z time. the larger ones close to A gallon each. in 2 gal. & 5 gal. respectively. Here are photos of My lovelies! More on the way soon!

Week 3 flower MMXX
MMXX shares a bloom tent with two of the Spice . The third Spice is Almost 6 ft. at this point, & has been moved to A taller area. Our MMXX is stockier, shorter than her cousins, with slightly shorter node spacing, smaller leaves, & More slender branches. She seems to be a little bit faster, too At least her nugs seem to be a bit fuller. That could all change, though. Her smell is amazing VERY hard to describe, but full of A gasoline sting to your nose. She is eating right along pace with her cousins, too. In about 3gal. of soil,& eating one half to 3/4 of a gallion at ever feed. Eating every day, every other day, depending on the feed I'm on. If you want to know where im at in the feed, just go to the first page on the journal, the page has my ENTIRE feed schedule, from day 1 to day 60 of flower (about - some go longer)
I would rather have the entire thing in one spot so you dont have to go hunting around to get bits and pieces of my feed schedule. You wont miss pieces of it if you want to copy it down. Seems to be working well so far. I grow some monsters with this method, and they VERY seldom, if ever, get lockout, deficiencies, or strange growth. Pests and sickness are rare visitors as well, and usually stem from me allowing someone new into my home/grow house,. I regret it every time. Not because of the people, no. Just the stuff that comes in with them. DONT DO IT! lol.
I think the MMXX is probably my favorite out of all 4 strains from Twenty20 right now, and thats saying something! he has 2 out of 3 bloom tents, half of the tall closet, and about a third of all my clone space right now. I'm REALLY diggin this breeder.

Week 4 Spice
So here we can see them just EXPLODE this week. its like they grew for 3 weks, instead of just one. They are really thickening up now. Not stretching really at all anymore, and they have their spacing set. I may get one that has solid long colas, but its looking like two for sure are going to have those golf ball shaped nugs that are my favorite type to smoke. Seem to mature more evenly than the larger, more conjoined nugglets do. Really it looks like they ALL are going to have that sort of shape, but the one thats in the 2 gallon pot is so much smaller than the others, its hard to tell if shes as true to form as the other two. I'm starting to not be able to tell the difference between them in photos anymore. If it werent for them being in 3 different sized pots, I think two would be twins, with a very close older sister, thats just a lot taller, but still looks the same as the other two. the 6 foot Spice has the strongest, spiciest smel out of all three of them, and I can smell the skunkkiness better in her as well. I dont think THATS all the pot size. Eating every other day now, but still bwetween 2/3 and a full gallon. Only so much soil to soak up water, or im sure they would want more. The tacoes are all over all three plants now. Starting to look just like that photoI got from the breeder's site to post till i got my own. I'm barely seeing any phenotypical variation on her, but that all could change in the next couple of weeks still. Feed on the pg 1 schedule. Just look for wk 4 flower
Here is what you've all been waiting for, the PHOTOS!!!!!
...............
wk 4 MMXX
She is SO SWEET SMELLING! Looks so small sitting there next to her Spice sisters. I have to put her on a crate so she doesnt get shadowed out underneath all of the taller plants. And these are the short ones in this tent!!! She is almost white with resin right now. She scared me once or twice, thinking it was PM, but no, shes just THAT covered. I cant wait to try her!
Her feed is running right along. Not one single hiccup since I started ANY of these Twenty20's. I can tell the MMXX is going to have some very dense buds, though. More dense than a lot I've grown lately. Very light colored hairs, hard to see if they are maturing. May be one of those that throws white hairs till I cut her down. Nothing wrong with that. She is a BEAUTY though. Enjoy some photos!!

wk 5 Spice
She's well into week 5 now, and starting to look like she's getting ready to smoke. I'm going to keep her going to AT LEAST 2 more weeks, though. Solid, chunky buds surrounded by trichome-covered leaves. Trichs so thick it is making even the fan leaves taco! She is so sparkly. I've even found trichs on her stems. Her smell is thickening - thats the only way ot describe it. I've got people telling me they can smell my house from the parking lot, the smell is that strong right now. And the other two strains from Twenty20 are only 2 weeks into flower right now, so I KNOW its not them! I love these plants. I finally got some good photos of the BIG spice. )the line of missing paint in the photos is the 6ft line, where I removed a shelving unit to make room for more plants.) I will put the photos down in order, with Spice #1 up top, so you can see the differences in all 3. There arent many. Mainly just the height, and the strength of the smell. I can't WAIT to smoke this stuff! They are all feeding strong, and steady. Same amt. of liquid as last week, and as often too. Here's our FAVORITE PART- THE PHOTOS!

Week 6 - HARVEST PHOTOS SPICE
Here's the link for her testing info! Finally came in and she tested out at 24.6% THC!
So She surprised me a little bit, and was done at week 6! VERY fast pheno. All of them were. The star of the show was #2, though, for SURE. She was nice and compact, with buds I score @ a 9 on the denseness scale. Well formed, almost pre-trimmed buds all the way down to her 'ankles' . The first set of photos is Spice #1, the tiny one. The 2nd set is Spice #2. Larger, a little lankier, but very, very tasty. I am taking the lovely keeper to a facility to be tested, and when I do, I will update this log with all of the information I get from the testers. So keep your eyes out for one more update, within the next week or so. This was such a fun strain to grow, and easy too. something a beginner can handle, but then again SHE can handle a pro grower and all the training and supplemental feeds too, so anyone who picks up this strain is going to have a lot of fun!

HER THC TESTED AT 28.3% WOOT!!!!
Here are her photos. Sorry it took so long to get these last to you. I could have SWORN that I loaded MMXX along with the Spice. My apologies. Y'all wanted to see the testing info anyways, you know you did!
Here are some of the best of the cola photos I got from her. Shes a BEAUTIFUL plant.
extremely compact, ideal for indoor grows. well stacked, but the buds have their own space, so not a whole lot of owrry about mildew and the like. She was sort of on autopilot the entire time. Took whatever I fed her, and didnt lock out, didnt get picky, and just kept swelling. I picked this one out of 6 strains at the time for replacement of my grease monkey, which was my morning medical strain for pain, nausea, and vomiting. I did not go in to the grow intending to find a replacement for that plant, but the MMXX was so good, I made the decision anyways.
