Popped my cherry when I popped this bean! Lifelong dream to grow can't believe it finally
happened.
After the initial decision to grow I had two large considerations:
WHAT
Internet research led me to North Atlantic Seed Company. I chose a broad selection of types, surprised at the relatively low cost. When youre used to paying $100$-$500$/zip depending on quality the seeds seem almost free. Focused primarily on autoflower, sprinkled in both fem and reg photo packs, and chose a wide variety or breeders. What a fun shopping cart.
What a fun package to open! For the very very very first one I had to choose not based on flavor or potency or fancy or any of that - wanted to focus on best possible chance of success. Classic breeder, known to grow worldwide, genetics focused on speed and vigor. Fast Bud #2 Auto - Sweet Seeds - Spain, EU
WHERE
Had to be inside. Too many variables outside for a newb who wants early success. Wanted a turn key solution so grabbed a grow tent kit from my local grow shop. Spider Farmer, 2x2, light, fan, fabric pots, scrog net, all the stuff. Added a big bag of Stonnington Blend soil from Coast of Maine, after tax the bill was a hair over $400$. It is so special to be able to walk into a store staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable people.

WEEK 1 - 2
March 1 - 15
Placed germinated seed finger deep into 5gal fabric pot with Stonnington from Coast of Maine. End of week 1 shows out of the soil with only the "seed leaves" and the "first leaves". End of week 2 plant is a couple inches high with a third set of leaves, "real leaves" if you will.

Weeks 3-5
Oversprayed, overdried, mild fried
Weeks 6-10
The plant survived my accidental torture and made its way to flower. As she healed we did some training, kinda "bonsai" style.
Weeks 10 - 12
Wow, ballin outta control and heading towards the finish line. Week 10 was really a week away, was out on vacation. Set up a blumat carrot and had a buddy come thru and check half way. The bubble buckets needed some water but this soil plant was set-it-and-forget-it! Blumat is cheap and easy while away!
Plant has been thriving since return and should finish soon. Hoping the buds fill out a little more but will be happy with any decent yield from this stunted plant. I cant believe she went from almost dead to all this! Plant is super frosty and looks like a high times centerfold up close. Very Nice!!!! Have done some
major re-arranging and now have two tents. Learning!

Chop Time - End Of The Road
I am officially chopping at day 83! If I rub a sugar leaf between two fingers I get a powerful sweet citrus scent. Under a microscope I'm seeing a few amber trichomes.
Time to chop down! Was going to try a "lotus cure" but have decided on simply flipping this tent to dry status and hanging the whole plant upside down. Can get my lung room pretty cool, looking like I'll be able to stay between 66-72F. Will verify bud moisture between 10-12% using pronged meter and then into grove bags. Very excited for first harvest! Thank you to all of AFN and especially the prolific adventures of @Tattoochase - what a deep hobby to learn!
I am predicting 20-30g harvest based on the feel of these small buds from this stunted plant. Pics before chop:

Chop't
Big time shoutout to my favorite salad store, chop't. Did some very very light wet trimming and killed the plant, hanging in tent.
Harvest
Buds read between 8% on smallest/dryest to 11% at wettest on hygrometer, time to put this baby to bed! Trimmed buds off and weighed in at 10.06g. After trimming leaves and taking only serviceable nugs I bagged 6.98g in a grove bag. Took the super nice sift from the under tray and threw the rest (leaves and stems) away. Very happy I've got a tiny little harvest from my first ever plant! I feel like I got the hang of watering and learned some valuable IPM lessons. The next harvest will be in only a few weeks, I ran two DWC buckets shortly after planting this soil pot. Those are a lot more impressive!
Big thanks to the whole AFN community. I lurked for quite a bit before joining and was able to form a starting point/action plan. Since joining I see how much more there is to learn! Two huge specific shoutouts:
- AFN mod team. I was a jerk in a comment reply, one of y'all deleted the comment and messaged me with "that was uncalled for". super simple/direct and you can't have an online community without a mod team. y'all are handling it correct! sorry for being a jerk and thanks for the community.
- TattooChase. Dude your huge mega perpetual grow where youre trying so much stuff has been a fantastic read and a wealth of pointers. A bunch of the veteran growers are in there diagnosing stuff and bouncing ideas its like House on television. keep stuntin on em dude!!
Plant as she was hung:
Trash

Sift
Next batch: Two 5gal buckets DWC kit from PA hydro. Blueberry Auto freebie from NASC in foreground, GSCxWhite Widow Auto from CaptainRedBeard in background. Both 75 days old.
