Zamaldelica x Kali China is one of the best and most complete sativa/indica hybrids we have ever produced up to date. A next generation super hybrid which gathers countless qualities in a single plant.

It's the fruit of a direct cross between our Zamaldelica elíte mother, sativa of great reputation that in recent years is being considered as one of the best pure sativas in the world, and our 4th generation Kali China elite, our most refined stabilized indica hybrid, which is gaining followers quickly due to the quality of its effects and its terpene profile, and for its exotic and stylized hash plant expression.

Zamaldelica x Kali China has the super refined Kali China's hash plant behaviour: compact, very manageable and very easy to grow plants, both indoors and outdoors, with very little stretching in flowering and a fast flowering time. With a sativa touch that provides more vigor and excellent branching.

Its beautiful and stylized flowers of medium size are very dense and resinous, producing a powerful, elegant and refined sativa/indica effect of prime quality, long lasting and without ceiling, with one of the most complex and elaborated terpene profiles in our catalogue.

Polyhybrid with a complex genetic background, which includes 4 sativas of incredible reputation and quality (Zamal, Malawi, Thai and old Kali Mist) and our exotic China Yunnan indica. Zamaldelica x Kali China is a new zenith in the breeding of our latest hybrids, enhancing our best strains to an even higher level of refinement and quality.

Let's see what we're working with.

  • 4x4 tent
  • 480w Bridgelux EB2 light strips
  • Ebb and flow buckets 5 gallon
  • Mega Crop+CALMAG PRO - 500PPM
  • Growpito sim mix, enzymes, and beneficials
  • 92f ambient/86f surface
  • 75% RH
Soaked the growpito overnight and drained it. Threw in two ZXK in 2/3 pots and one in it's own. Plan is to veg and fim then clones to flower. Ignore the sad Jack in the back, it doesn't like the LEDs.

This is going well despite losing two seeds. The Mega Crop is producing some thick stems and the low feed strength has been great in the growpito.

  1. This first pheno is much larger than the other two with vigorous side branching and relatively short distance between nodes
  2. The other two phenos are smaller with less side branching and slower growth.

This far in I've noticed very nice side branching. I have cut clones of 2/3 phenos and stuck them in some growpito for now. Not too sure I could fit more than maybe 4-5 of these in one bucket without them crowding each other. This may turn out to be a great scrog strain as well as sog.

i haven't had to train these plants yet, removed large fan leaves, otherwise nothing and I am impressed. One pheno has strong, rapid branching that has allowed me to take several clones. The pheno in the same bucket behaves the same just in a more compact and less rapid fashion. As for the third pheno, in it's own bucket, it doesn't produce branching similar to either of the aforementioned but I believe it is still developing it's roots.

I lifted the buckets because they aren't as light proof as I hoped so they develop algae. I was surprised by the root growth they had. I preemptively took some measures to avoid blockages or any other weirdness.

Fingers crossed that I can keep some clones of this strain.

I don't have much to add really. I think the 5 gallon bucket is more than a 5 gallon pot, deep bucket as well, and the increased veg time is appreciated since I've been healing my Jack Herers, transplanted some autos that had suffered in a white fabric pot, and overall trying to dial in this growpito. An 8 week veg isn't out of the question with these buckets but my root system is developing fast in this growpito.

Well thanks to my mentor I got a facelift to my grow and I greatly appreciated it. At this point I'll reiterate my setup a bit.

  • 480w bridgelux EB2
  • 4x4x7 tent
  • 3x3 tray on a 4x4 table (custom courtesy of my mentor)
  • 55g reservoir
  • 9 x 5 gallon square pots
  • Growpito Sim Mix/enzymes/beneficials
  • Mega Crop
There's other stuff going on in the tent that might show in the shots. I transplanted these from the 5 gallon buckets to the new square pots with relative ease minutes chasing down stray clumps of the sim mix. Flooded them 3 inches and not much else to be said. One pheno took the transplant like a champ whereas the other required a lot of root to be trimmed that just didn't develop quite right.

Welcome to the flowering tent.

Just flipped these girls and increased the feed to 1.5EC after their transplant. I delayed flowering for over a month to get some viable clones and i acquired a KALI dominant plus a ZAMALDELICA dominant clone. Lights are sitting at 18" from the shortest plant and I'm flooding every three days. I did break a branch on the
ZAMALDELICA dominant, the leaves are drooping but no yellowing.

In the pictures there is the Jack Herer in the back left corner, two RQS Diesel Autos in the rear right, the ZAMALDELICA dominant front left, and the KALI dominant front right.

Figuring out this blogging system took a bit of work and now I have some things to be deleted. I'm curious what the series means.

I'm loving the Growpito thus far and severely missing Botanicare's Liquid Karma in my regimen. Cloning has been the bane of my existence without it. I was able to go six days without watering and a bit of wilting. The constant cold this season has made it a bit difficult to maintain temps but my tent doesn't smell yet so I don't need the carbon fan running 24/7.

I wish I could get my hands on a Grodan Grosense meter to really monitor my roots. I was able to get two clones from these three phenos to root and I have more but it's been difficult. The MC really thickened my stems and I will be using Hormex #16 rooting powder in the future.

The ZXK has been taking the weather and lights fine despite it not being as warm as I would like. They are taking their time to develop pistils and I'm wondering if my ppfd is too high with a 12/12 and maybe 11/13 would initiate flowering a bit more.

Plants are doing well under 11/13. I was able to get a clone of the ZAMALDELICA pheno to root well and a pheno of the KALI CHINA as well.

The ZAMALDELICA phenos have a nice sativa stretch to them and strong stems. I cleaned up branches that had yellowed and cut weak growth out. These two particular phenos got a bit bushy so I spread them with some pipe cleaners. About 36" tall so far.

Nothing is really going on but the stretch is taking off with Zamaldelica pheno reaching 40" while the Kali China is shorter at 30". The color on these is really beautiful and such a vibrant splash of greens. I'll see how far these lights penetrate at 37w per sqft.

I neglected to include temperature differentials for night and day but there they are. It's been pretty warm but I'm believing that the foliar feed I've been doing 3x a week has improved the plants' constitution. The leaves have darkened up and are no longer cupping under the low light height.

I'm in love with the structure of both phenos and they would both make great SOG strains. Five days between watering has been the sweet spot for these so far and I've actually avoided defoliation. I've been removing really low leaves that had lost vigour, branches that stretched but wouldn't have any buds, and some LST but not much else.

These are some gorgeous plants that have even impressed my wife. There are some micro shots off the pistols developing and just general close up goodness.

They aren't eating much considering my tap water is .3 EC and .3 of the 1.3 EC is CalMag. So 0.7 EC so far where Greenleaf Nutrients recommends 1.5 EC. Considered that they are sharing the same reservoir as Jack Herer.

Day 26 Flower - Issues

I didn't take pictures entirely like I usually do but for about a week I had been getting yellowing growth but it started turning into spots on one plant then it began to climb. I could be wrong but it appears to be a calcium deficiency. There was some pruning of weak branches that needed to be done so I went ahead and flooded the table again.

pH was adjusted to 6.0
Mega Crop was increased to a 1.4 EC
CalMag was increased
Weak stems and stretchy branches were pruned

I'm suspecting some lockout at 5.5 pH but since switching to the LEDs I get a CalMag deficiency every time so I increased the amount. If it doesn't improve in a few days I'll raise the pH to 6.2. The Mega Crop was increased because all but the Kali China dominant pheno looked hungry. I initially suspected pH or nutrient burn early on with the tips but I believe foliar feeding held it back and it was actually calcium deficiency.

The stems on some of the lower, less developed buds were getting chlorosis and feeling soft which isn't how my plants have been growing since MC as I get stems like wood. The first time I saw a calcium deficiency was in the second run of Malawi x Panama and by the time I could afford more it was too late to correct it as I had lost too many leaves. The bud was maybe midgrade, lacking density and aroma.

I think the K and or Cal and or pH issue have been resolved. The most affected leaves are fully dying while the others are crisping on edges and so on. Though I was feeding about half strength so I'm still not entirely sure what caused the deficiency or which it was.

Otherwise everything is staying pretty stable. No real smell from them yet but the Malawi x Panama wasn't really strong aroma wise.

Put a net up because the Jack Herer growing in tandem with these was starting to fall over

Day 37 Flower - Flooded

Lights: 480w Bridgelux EB gen 2 3000k
Nutrients: Mega Crop/CalMag/Growpito beneficials
M&M: 3x3 Flood and Drain & Growpito Sim Mix
Water: EC 1.7 in 1.5 out
pH: 6.0
Temperature: 84f | 68f
Humidity: 50%

Smooth sailing this far but I do believe they will go past the breeder schedule. They aren't bulking yet like the Jack Herer and only one pheno was incredibly affected by the previous issues. I'm thinking they are going to go longer and really fatten up towards the last week similar to the Malawi.

Compared to the Malawi or even the Jack Herer these are pushing snow faster than the cartels and they don't smell yet. Loving these plants and clones of both phenos have rooted plus doing well.

I also have an IG @FTF_Damien50. For the five pictures I might post here I have 15 more I didn't lol.

Water: EC 3.2 in 2.9 out
pH: 6.3
Temperature: 84f | 68f

An edit to the EC because I was only measuring the MC and for the sake of accuracy I've noted the true EC. My tap measures at a .3 with the CalMag at a .9 and MC at 1.7.

Watering frequency is going to be changed to every 3 days now. These are taking their time developing and I believe will exceed 56 days by a bit. I have sampled alone already and much to my disbelief my wife loves it already. She says it's a happy strain that tackles her depression and anxiety well. I have not sampled or smelled the Kali China dominant yet but the Zamaldelica dominant smells like fresh diesel fuel. I got happy smelling it because it was so familiar from being a diesel mechanic that it felt nostalgic lol. The smell is intense and slightly burns.

Ace is going to take all my money.

I messed up with my pH meter but the really sativa dominant pheno, I didn't clone, took it hard and lost more leaves that I would have liked. ZxK #1 handled it with less issue but still been rough. ZxK #2 handled it almost perfectly but didn't lose any leaves.

I really hate that I ruined these beautiful leaves because of a cheap pH pen. I'm thinking about 2-3 weeks left but I'm getting long colas on the taller ones and not really sure what I'm going to get on the other lol.

The plants look like hell but the buds are fattening and I didn't lose too many leaves. I'm thinking these will hit about 70 days or so especially the shorter pheno. They are ugly but I made mistakes which I don't mind showing.

Harvest - Day 57

Finally made it to the end. They ended up with a pungent fuel like smell but I messed up and it shows. The shorter pheno didn't yield like the sativa phenos but if the smoke proves to be similar or better like the others I'll sog it out. It has a musty smell but the buds were dense in a sativa structure.

The taller phenos smell intoxicating however the buds weren't as dense. I'll probably run the taller phenos in a SOG once my cloner and mother plant is ready.

Smoke Report

Lumii_20200118_102400942_compress97.jpg

This was the general look of all the bud after being cured. Everything dried in roughly 5 days at 60f/55rh.

After drying I set it in a sealed buckets for two weeks for taking weight. Overall it was only 8oz between all 3 plants with the shorter pheno having a low calyx to leaf ratio.

After a month long cure this is a complex, for me, to describe type of high.

The bouquet of both is nearly identical. Pungent, citrus, fruity, with an earthiness. While the taste is varied with hints of matcha, mango, licorice, root beer, and wood.

They are not oily but the Kali China pheno is crusted in trichomes and gives a lot of kief just grinding. The buds finish in a light but solid nugs. Buds are a nice dark green with bright orange pistils. The grind produces a light but moist crumbly bud.

This is my happy, horny, spiritual, pain relieving, mellow vibe, any time smoke.

The hash plant is my spiritual, pain relieving smoke. Something about the thick smoke with it's weird wood/earth taste and sweet hints of mango is delicious. My wife and a few other women reported pain and spasm relief with a gentle mood stabilizing effects and they enjoy it for menstruations. Like the other pheno, the high is mellow and gentle with no paranoia or anxiety. I don't fall asleep thankfully but I'm not wired just in a neutral but calm space. The high hits within 20 minutes and takes me somewhere I'm I feel blessed to feel and the other is like a blessing of existence. I like meditating with this hash plant.

The other plant is similar but it has been amazing for the sex drive. It's a light uplifting high that could make a house fire feel like a bonfire and a picnic. It's a happy, jocular smoke that I feel in the head. Makes a bad day a decent day and doesn't leave me tired. Otherwise in most ways they are similar and really pleasant to smoke.

:spels: :dancer::spels: = beauties Damien, if this is representative of her kin then ACE is bangin' it with this cross!

Any noteworthy aroma during veg/ early bloom so far? The description of her aroma profile still makes me drool,.... I can't wait to see this crop in prime time bloom -:hump:
Some fine work going down here mate! :d5:

... this is my first look at the new Blog system, which is way overdue,.... thank you for doing the tutorial, I'll need to go check that out! :thanks:

I thought the Malawi x Panama was good but this limited edition has been great so far.

I am getting rotting fruit at the moment but it could the JH. I haven't gotten any aromas just sniffing or rubbing but I'm ready.

If you have questions about the blog just message me. I am glad you commented though because I want to get a group blog/series going that focuses on sativas/photo growers. It would have featured journals, guides, and help highlight the growers that contribute.

I have a small list with @RivetGrrl @TheMongol so. Any suggestions for people that might be down would be cool.

 I think I gushed about AC stuff already at your regular thread? Of the pure Sativa's, Malawi interests me most, but not sure I can pull her off,.. Panama is faster, likely do-able,... Golden Tiger, probably dreamin'! I still want to try Desfran/Destroyer too, but after talking with a visiting DP grow master here, he says it's about a 50/50 toss to get the Oaxaca pheno that has that unique superb aroma, otherwise is the looooong haul Thai pheno,.... this holds true for the auto versions as well... in fact, he said he usually shit-cans the Thai auto pheno' soon as he can ID them,... World of Seeds offers that KoChang Thai landrace too....
However, the ACE crosses (PCK) with Malawi and Panama are looking like fine choices, but then again, they are crosses,... That Killer Malawi, I think it's worth the risk for me to try! What a rare treat that would be to launch friends into low-Earth orbit with-
....... Rotten fruit, 95% certain that the JH!
... nice idea on the Sativa Blog group Damien, I'll think on that,... Oh! -- @Dudeski for sure, he recently finished some fine-ass landracey Sativa's from Swami!

I'm still pissed I didn't keep a mother of MxP such a superb high at 11 weeks with a month cure that put me in my own world with millions of thoughts. I was smarter and I had two phenos with one having super intense lemon smells and energetic buzz and the other was a heavy earthy musk. I read so many books on it.

I do want to start preserving my favorite breeders genetics, especially Landraces like Panama Red, and building a personal seed bank. Plants likes these deserve to be kept imo.

I asked dubi from Ace about being a vendor here. Idk when he'll answer been some weeks.

Well find more sativa lovers in due time. We get everyone blogging and the we'll have a real clean look.

Thanks for the tag my friend! I'm definitely a Sativa lover and interested in the blogs. Where is the tutorial located?

Swami gear has been very good for me. But the Ace has my attention and definitely on my short list of ones to run.

Thanks Damien!

@Dudeski I'm not sure where it's located at the moment but Waira may.

I've heard very little of Swami but they're going on my list with Indian Landrace Exchange. Just looked them up, I almost went poor lol.

@RivetGrrl I think if we get a good group together, starting small, we can create some series on photos/sativas but it can all be discussed in time. Thanks for looking out!

I have grown plenty of long flowering pure sativas indoors 12/12 for the whole grow and had good success. I just popped an original Kali Mist seed from 2008 and a Neville’s Haze that is also about ten years old and so far so good. You cannot lose with Ace seeds ALL of their stuff is top notch that I have grown. Their A5 haze is to die for along with Malawi, Congo,Orient Express,Golden Tiger,Thai Chi all of which were manageable under a 12/12 cycle in a 2’x3’ with a 5’ ceiling. I have a Kali China freebie that may get wet soon also. Their auto Malawi and Zamaldelica are good too. Also I don’t think Dubi answers DM’s either fyi. He is pretty active and accessible over at ICMAG.

They haven't disappointed me for the second time. I grew their Malawi x Panama twice and loved it but neglected to keep a cut. I normally message him at IC and asked if he would come here but he doesn't want to manage two forums.

I agree with their preservationist ideals and breeding methods. I'll eventually collect them all and learn to breed.

Nice grow. I'm happy we have another Ace Seeds aficionado here. I grew out both the Auto Malawi, and the Auto Zamaldelica in 2019, the Zam in particular blew my mind. Now got a Golden Tiger photo period on the go, who is shaping up to be quite a plant.

These guys are flying the flag for me at the moment, their indepth analysis of the growing cylce, the terp and THC testing, the new forray into the Auto world, and their strain bank, exciting times for us growers, and the old world genetics.

Any plans for another Ace run?

I have two ZxK mothers growing at the moment that aren't ready to clone yet.

I still have limited edition Bangi Congo x Panama and Nepal Jam x Orient Express seeds that I'm going to germ soon.

Thanks for the kind words. They are a great breeder whose principles of preservation, open pollination, and transparency has become a standard to me. Kiwik Seeds, The Real Seed Company, and a few others on Ace's site all offer some amazing Landrace genetics.
