Ruderalis Indica (Sensi Seeds)

Blog details

ALL autoflowers begin as one form or another mixes with Ruderalis.

What makes Ruderalis unique, is that as a strain, it doesn't wait for a change of season to shorten the days to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.
After roughly 28 days, the plant starts to flower without the influence of shorter daylight hours (both males and females of the strain , obviously).
In other words, the plant has a genetic predisposition to start reproduction after 1 month.

So using the Ruderalis strain, as a breed to mix other favoured traits from other plants, ....we eventually make hybrids called AUTOFLOWERS.

I'm beginning this blog in the belief it may help others better understand where autoflowers originated from and some of their growing behaviors.
In this blog, I'm using the most simple form of hybrid, which is a mix of Ruderalis and Indica.

I had started growing some of these seeds last fall in my 2x4 tent.
I favored growing some Dr.Feelgood from Short Stuff Seeds which turned out to be a bit of a failure.

And So,...the journey begains with starting to soak the seeds.
I've had best success soaking seeds in a shot glass for 4 to 6 hours.
As the seeds sink, I pull them out and transfer to paper towel in a ziplock bag.
When the taproot is roughly 1cm or 1/2 ",...then I plant into soil.
Of those that germinate, 1/2 will go into ProMix HP, and the rest into SunShine4.

I'm soaking 7 seeds.
Sensi Seeds claim,.....1/2 will be autoflower,....the other half will be photoperiods.
So hopefully, ....3 to 4 will be autoflowers,....1 or 2 males and or 1 or 2 femailes.
I'm doing this grow to start a new seed reserve for myself.

I invite everyone to comment, good or bad on this blog.
Lets have fun and learn together.

In the end we all win!
Cheers,
GC
