Novice autoflower enthusiast here from tropical far north Queensland, Australia ✌
After some success with indoor soil growing I decided to look into a hydroponics setup at my local hydro store. Apparently, in tropical climates, deep water culture (DWC) units are prone to bacteria problems (root rot) with heat levels in the reservoir difficult to control.
In order to eliminate issues caused by exposed root systems, I was recommended giving a gravity-fed Autopot unit a try using a 50/50 perlite/vermiculite mix. Autopot website information: https://www.autopot.com.au/kits
Disclaimer: I am in no way compensated by this company (information included for reference to the system specifications).
Due to limited online information specific to autoflowers using this setup (specifically the 50/50 perlite vermiculite grow medium) I've decided to catalogue my attempts (along with I'm sure very many failures) so that it might help others in a similar position.
Please do feel free to comment, any assistance is greatly appreciated!
