Made some seeds summer of 2022... These plants are from the smallest of 3 CDLC plants that were each pollinated by three CMD males. I already tested the offspring of the CDLC#1 crosses last winter and found all females to be fairly decent smoke with several phenotyoes showing up repeatedly, a bubba looking smaller plant with dense trichomes and purple higlights, a lanky green BO, garbage and wetdog musty smelling medium density heavy producer with a head sweat inducing come up, and several looked like something between Wedding Cake and OG Kush, some with a light minty note, but all have a strong gassy fuel exhale. Definitely not a daytime functionality herb, unless you drive a couch to work like I do.
I hit 3 CDLC, 3 Skywalker, 1 Mango Smile, 3 Coal Miner's Daughter, and 3 Anvil girls with 3 male Coal Miner's Daughter... So far I would say CMD has proven a successful male pollen donor at least for my tastes. No plants started from these crosses have had any bud rot or other fungal pathenogens like several feminized lines I have tried over the years including during the same grow as several of the plants from the above crosses. Not sure if the males added to the robust growth and lack of any fungal growth, but they didn't weaken the lines thats for sure when growing them next to the same line as the mother they came from. Definitely all trigger floral production several days to a week or even two weeks after plants started at the same time as them from the maternal line. I have found the crosses handle transplanting better then most feminized lines I have grown with the exception of maybe a few of the Mango Smile I have popped which were all beasts. Definitely all have a longer time to finish most coming in at 90-100+ days, but the yield on most made up for the longer flowering times.
Still have a pack and a half of CMD regs, a pack of JEM/GEM regs, and a pack of Anvil fems to look through and maybe use to hit some other growers stuff with. I usually pollinate only 1-3 of the lowest branches each with a separate male so I get 20-100 seeds from each to look through, not alot but enough to shake out a winner or two to hopefully move lines forward with. This is a long term closet project that started and stopped many times since I first grew low ryder back in about 2003. I stopped keeping clones several years ago, but still keep a decent veg area for photoperiod runs and that gets used to flower out autos in off times.
Hope you enjoy following along with my sporadic posts, any questions just ask... not interested in trading or buying/selling anything please do not ask.
