Ace Seeds Panama

From the Ace Seeds description:

"Panama combines 3 excellent sativas from Panama. It is one of the most popular, powerful and high yielding sativa in our catalog.

Very elaborated hybrid of great potency and vegetative vigor. It produces beautiful, large, dense flowers full of trichomes, often showing reddish and pinkish pistils when flowering, traits usually associated with the mythic Panama Red and Colombia Punto Rojo strains.

Panama is probably the best american pure sativa hybrid bred in the last 20 years.

Its aroma and effect are reminiscent of the best Colombian and Panama Red sativas from the 70’s".

Clones of Panama #1

Two clones of the big gal, already at day 16 and 20. Very robust, no sign of any male parts at the lower nodes.

Pardon the terrible pic, back up tent with the blurple's until room opens in the 4x8

Intersex traits

Well, the clones all show the same intersex traits, but only on the lower buds and only at the nodes where the presex flowers are, not in the buds. I pinch them off as they show, but I won't be making more clones of this plant. I put one of the other plants from seed into flower, she shows more NLD tendencies so fingers crossed she is a red pheno. It is not uncommon to have intersex show up in sativas, but I need stable plants so I hope this one is good. The third Panama from seed will go into flower as soon as I harvest the Giant Skittlez in about 10 days to a week.

Too bad as she is flowering well, other than no matter how much CalMag I give her she's determined to want more

Shitty pic but you can see where the male flower is coming out, not separate but right out of where the pistils are protruding from the calyx.

You can see the emerging stamens here

Day 61

Panama is coming along well. Her clones are vigorous, and have shown little of the intersex traits so I may keep cloning from clones to see if it can be eliminated. I will see how the other two from seed do when they get flipped in a couple days, if they are nicer I will clone from them instead. For this first gal, she is stacking on the weight nice. Very dense buds and does not seem fazed with the Ca issue I did not get on top of in time. Subsequent plants are getting fed heavier in anticipation.

Harvest, clones, others from seed

Harvested Panama #1 @73 days, she is drying now. Very dense and very sticky buds on her. Her clones are going strong, as are the other two from seed that have been flipped awhile back as well.

Another Panama from seed, hope she is a red pheno, I am getting a slight fresh cracked pepper smell off her with a leaf rub. She is a bit small, I decided to try an AutoPot I'll see how she does as she continues to grow. She is showing a more NLD tendency than #1 did, but still pretty large % of leaf on her. So far no intersex showing, I am monitoring her close.

It's like the garden of Eden in the veg tent, everything is getting pretty big. This is clone #3 from the original Panama, should be a beast by the time I can flip her.
