True Goodness

Thursday July 25, 2013

True goodness is done for the sake of goodness, not to get something in return.

When giving becomes its own reward, the results of it – including the reactions of others – become inconsequential.

A Better Me

Friday August 2, 2013

We are told that a single soul that turns from the negative to the positive and starts to do acts of loving kindness can alter the world. It also is written that if you save one soul, it is as if you’ve saved the entire world. We—each and every one of us—need to understand that we have the capacity to do just that.

We don’t know how important each of us might be in the grand scheme of things or which positive action will be the one that shifts the balance. It might simply be a person who collects shoes for children that don’t have them. It might be a word said to a would-be suicide that ends up saving and changing the life of that person. It might be just holding someone in your arms and saying “Welcome.”

Often we don’t know what the course might be or what it is that we need to do. But if in our thoughts, we concentrate on being better—better not in terms of only “me,” but better in terms of bringing Light to the world—then we can create a connection to the Creator for now and forever.

The Truth About What We Want

Saturday August 3, 2013

Have you ever noticed that what you wanted yesterday isn’t necessarily what you want today? We change our minds so frequently, from the clothes we feel like wearing to the food we want to eat.

The truth about what we want is that it is not dependable. It can fluctuate at a moment’s notice.

We create more stability when we live our lives not by what we want to do, but what we know we need to do.

So Much More

Tuesday August 6, 2013
Part of creating long-term fulfillment for ourselves is letting go of those short-term quick fixes that make us happy for a moment, but leave us feeling empty in their wake.

We usually think of turning down instant gratification as giving something up, but in reality the only thing we sacrifice is emptiness and regret in exchange for a more balanced and consistent flow of energy and joy.

We lose nothing in forgoing instant gratification because we gain so much more just by making different choices.

Nice read especially for those who are mired in an issue.....These post strike home for a lot of us.
Reminds me a lot of the dale Carnegie courses I took years ago.
Thanks for posting....all of us need help at times....some of us need it a bit more.

The "I Can't Because..." Syndrome

Saturday August 10, 2013
How many times do you say, “I can’t because…?”

I can’t because of my childhood. I can’t because it’s hot outside. I can’t because I’m a Gemini!

The problem with the “I can’t because…” syndrome is that we are letting everything from the weather to our astrological signs be in control of our lives.

When we stop relinquishing control of our lives, it becomes much easier to make all our dreams come true.

Mistaken Identity

Sunday August 11, 2013
We often make the mistake of labeling our destructive traits as “our negativity.” But the truth is negativity is not really ours in the first place!

Our real truth is our soul. Its essence cannot be touched or tainted by any impurity, darkness, or ego of any kind. It’s up to us to tap into it.

Next time you hear the negative voice whispering in your ear, remember… it’s not really you.

Creating Our Own Fulfillment

Tuesday August 13, 2013
When we have expectations or look for others to give us fulfillment on any level, we’re bound to be disappointed and react negatively.

Expectations don’t require much from us. They stand in stark contrast to a willingness to create what we want to happen, instead of just waiting for results.

When you’re busy creating your own fulfillment, you won’t feel the need to seek it from others.
