Grow Mediums Yellow Leves, Spotting on lower fan leaves, NL Autoflower-Nirvana Hydro Grow

Northern Light Autoflower 5th week of Flower Complete, Nirvana Shop Seeds

This is the 5th week of flower complete. Hope I am on the right week. Started counting flowering period after the the 4th week under veg light after I started to see pistols. Hoping to get at least 2 more weeks of grow and then 1 week of flush using distilled ph'ed water. Hope my timing is right. Got my 30x magnifying glass coming in the mail.

Only growing one plant. 1 for 1 so far and this is my very first hydro grow. Also my first autoflower. Very pleased with the results so far.

Just wondering if I should add back any cal/mag when flushing.

Also bumped up nutes to half the recommended dose rather than one fourth which is what I have been doing so far. Hope this does not stress out the plant. I think it can take it. We will see. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No yellow spots anymore. Monitored ph more closely. also added more cal/mag and have been continuing to use cal/mag about 2ml despite the schedule asking to eliminated cal/mag after so many weeks. Wondering if this plant will mature sooner than I think due to using hydro. Does this look like the completion of the 5th week of flower to anyone. It looks to me more like the end of the 4th week. Anyone familiar with this strain? Anyone have any input?

 She looks damn good Levi'! Well done! ....Ca/Mg is a very common nute' issue, particularly around this stage,... I'm not experienced with hydro, so I dunno about the finish time due to using hydro alone,.. too many other factors can influence this, including strain, even pheno's, ...but if she's shown to be hungry for it lately, it's fine to keep a little extra in there until it's cleansing time (vs. flush, which refers to a different process,...for clarity's sake, here at AFN we make a disticntion between the two... check out this sticky article by Boss Muddy: https://www.autoflower.org/f2/flushing-vs-flushing-12578.html ) ..... hey bud..just cought up.. im no DWC expert but imh you have been starving your plants.. you should not go 1/3 beaause its a Auto.

Yellow leafs are often signs of hungry plants and those brown spots you had where clear signs of cal/mag def. when you vent down you should have gone up... think it was a good thing you uped it again

when you are starting the clense period, cut all the neuts and ggo with only ph`ed water bud :check:

keep in mind when spoting for trics that not all autos go amber... (not formiluar with your strain)

Hope this helped alittle, and ye, your lady looks good :d5: looks like she got some more weeks in her:Sharing One:

Agreed! I think also your pH has been getting too high and causing phosphorus lockout. Keep it twixt 5.5 and 6.0 preferably (5.8). You should be using a higher nute ppm during bloom. At least half. The Lucas formula for GH nutes runs as high as 1300 (full nutes).

UPDATE: After looking again the spots are more indicative of potassium def without the loss of color. Either way your PK is lacking.
Anyone wanna confirm that? JMHO...

rebelroy,

thanks for the input. Did some research on the brown spots and thought it was cal/mag deficiency. Glad I went up. Its good to know that someone agrees that it was a cal/mag deficiency. I ended up going half strength of the recommended dose for cal/mag and it has worked out very well. I am also going half strength on the nutes instead of quarter strength and that seems to be working out better as well.

Trying to decide when to harvest and some general soil grow questions.

Hello everyone,

Here is an update with photos. Getting closer to harvest and wondering if I should start flushing yet. Any input would be helpful since this is my very first grow ever.

Does not seem like the pistols are turning color yet. Should I wait for them to start turning color or go ahead and start flushing now. How long does everyone usually flush for using hydro.

Also was thinking about trying a soil grow. Was looking into fox farm ocean forest with fox farm nutes at quarter strength after the 4th week. Any thoughts or suggestions? Never done soil though. Thought it was cool at first until I realized how much maintenance is required. Thinking about just doing a real simple soil grow next.

Also a little confused with how the ph thing works in soil. Should i used distilled or ro water? Or just regular tap water? All help would be really appreciated.
