Hello,

I am new to growing and if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Currently growing one NL Feminized Autoflower from Nirvana for personal use. It is now in the second week of flowering. Have a hydro set up with a combination of rock wool in perlite medium and using an air stone. Also have a self made CO2 generator. Have swithched over to MH at 425 watts, 2 feet away from main cola. Have one small fan and open a window daily for fresh air. Using a closet for a grow room. Understand that this is not the most ideal set up but given my current living arrangement it is the only option possible at the moment.

My question has to do with nutrients. I am currently using the flora series simple recirculation at .25 of the recommended strength since I am growing an autoflower. The .25 also includes the recommended dose for Cal/Mag. Putting in .5ml for 2 gallons. Also using distilled water with a one cup buffer of regular tap water. Please see the attachment for specifics.

My lower fan leaves have some spotting on them and my upper leaves are kind of yellow with a few of the leaves showing some bright yellow on the tips and/or edges of the plant. The plant still looks pretty healthy overall I just think that I need a minor tweek to get me back on track. Some input from growers with experience using autoflower in a hydro setup would really be appreciated. Attached are some pictures as well.

PPM usually around 200 or so when put brand new water and nutriends in. After a couple of days around 350. half of the 2 gallons of water is usually gone after a few days so instead of adding new water I just put new water and nutrients in every two or three days. I adjust ph daily.

Any tips tricks or thoughts would really be appreciated. Just want some high quality smoke for myself. Trying to get this down for life. Hope this is safe. lol

Im not well versed on hydro growing. I've stuck to soil growing but I will tell you a little yellowing on lower leaves is normal with Nirvana's NL. I grew 4 of them. One that didn't auto I put outside and it became a monster. The other 3 grew great and were easy. The smallest one yielded over 200g wet.

The biggest one.

They will get quite hungry midway through life so feed them and you will see them grow everyday.

The plant looks good! But those particular spots look nute-related; when in doubt, cut them out (the nutes). Unfortunately I don't know hydro from shine-ola. I hope someone that can help comes along and gives it to you.

I would definitely suggest that in the future you take pics without the growlight on. It makes it easier for the doctors to see clearly just what the eff is going on.

You have a really fine looking setup for a 1st grow, sir! Brave soul doing the hydro thang...yes, sir.

All the best to ya! :tiphat:

Thank you both for the response. Going to take some pics without the grow light on. The Flora Series Simple Recirculation schedule says to eliminate cal/mag after the fourth of fifth week. However since I am using distilled water my guess is to have to add back at least some cal/mag. Bumped up to 1ml yesterday. Going to bump up to 1.5 and see if that helps. Will take some pictures shortly.

Leaves drooping during the last 3 or 4 hours of light, update on photos

Here are some new pictures without the grow light on. It seems as though during the last 4 ours of lighting the leaves start to droop and the color turns to a light green on all of the canopy leaves as well as some of the lower fan leaves. In the morning however and throughout most of the day she looks healthy as can be.

Increased Cal/Mag 2 nights ago form .5 ml to 1.0 ml. Using distilled water so my guess is that you have to at least add back a little. My schedule that is in one of the attachments in my first post calls for no cal/mag after the first few weeks. Very confused.

Thanks for the help.

thanks for the complement on the set up. Tried to do some research before I began this great journey. Hopefully it pays off. Took new pics without the grow light on and cut back on nutes just a little. Not sure if its nutes because I am already quarter strength.

Bacon. Out of curiosity. If you do not mind. What was your largest yield on the Northern light auto from Nirvana?
