Hey guys, this is my first grow in about 40 years and all was well with the world until about a week ago. Haven't used any nutes thus far till rust spots started to appear on lower leaves and began to yellow. I thought I might be getting calcium dif. so added 1tsp per gal cal-mag for the last two feeds but it continues to get worse.

The Glue and Blue Dream seem to be affected more than the Red Poison but all 3 are suffering.

Hopefully one of you fine folks can help me nurse these girls through.

Problem: Fan leaves spotting then turning yellow and then getting crispy.

Medium/grow method: Soil - 1/2 SSHF 1/4 river bottom soil and 1/4 perlite. 5 gal fabric pots

Feed: and supplements used: none till spotting began then added 1tsp per gallon cal-mag. (2 feedings)

water source: Tap. Bubbled 24 hrs and PH adjusted to 6.5

Strain/age:Fast buds glue and bluedream, sweet seeds red poison. 36 days

light used: Mars Hydro SP 3000 18" above canopy

Climate: ventilated grow closet 70-80 f, 45 to 60% rh, 18/6 light schedule

@Imagine :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:Looks like a Phosphorus deficiency or lock out?
Can you elaborate on your soil mixture?
Do you know how many PPMs per gallon a tsp of your Cal-Mag provides? Also the PPM of your tap water?

I don't know right off hand what the ppm's are but I will check this afternoon when I have access.

As for the soil, I used Happy frog and perlite but added some sandy bottom soil from along side of a local river. It's an unknown, but the local vegetation goes jungle in the stuff. May not be the best for cannabis though. It seemed to do well till the girls started to flower and then started to go down hill.

Happy frog runs out of nutrients after a couple of weeks so you need to start a full balanced nutrient program. What nutrient line do you have available? Let me know those PPMs when you get them. The danger in using the river soil is pathogens so we need to keep an eye open for that. I do not see any in the pics posted.

Ok. Checked the ppm's and got a 101 on the water and 175 with 1 tsp calmag added. I have the Fox Farms trio of nutes on hand.

Really appreciate you taking the time to help. Thanks!

Well I never noticed this before but I cannot find any calcium listed in the Fox Farm Trio? Can you take some pictures of the List of ingredients off the backs of the bottles so I can verify that there is no added calcium in any of those three products. Thanks.

So 1 tsp of your Cal-Mag supplement adds ~ 75 PPM to 1 gallon of water. What is the ratio of calcium to magnesium in that product? It is pretty safe to say that 50 PPM of your starting water is calcium so with 1 tsp you are adding about 100 PPM per gallon. If there is none in the Trio then you are ok to about a max of 1.5 tsp per gallon when needed. If there is no calcium in the trio add 1/4 tsp with every feeding. Feed on a soil schedule of water, water, fertigate then repeat.

Start with 50% strength nutrients and bump up 10% each fertigate until you see a tiny bit of tip burn then back off 10%. That will dial in the nutrients to what the plant likes. I always recommend people use the entire line of nutrients (because they hide shit you need in the different bottles of stuff).

I get so frustrated with vendors that do not tell you what is in a product. Other than Bush Doctor Cal-Mag what Fox Farm products have Cal-Mag and how much?

Nothing listed on the bottles about calcium that I see, although there is some magnesium.

Ok it is in the Tiger Bloom - Calcium Nitrate is both nitrogen and calcium. Why they do not list it is crazy? I do not know how to do the math to get the PPM of the calcium out of the Calcium nitrate But at least we know where it is coming from. So with your water and the Tiger Bloom I am guessing you have about 90 PPM without adding additional. If you are running LEDs I would add the 1/4 tsp to your regular fertigation.
