Hey just, that older AKR is looking fire man. Good luck with the rest of your grow :smokebuds:

Hydrated lime will raise the pH faster than dolomite. But be cautious as too much can burn the roots. I wouldn't use more than 1 tablespoon per gallon of feed, wait 4-5 days, then check the pH again and see where you're at.

Thanks Muddy . . . I appreciate the help man. Ill go pick some up today . . . all i have laying around is powdered garden lime.

Thanks Thumper . . . she has been a real trooper. She has had to deal with that compacting soil and had a bit if a potassium def . . . but she keeps trucking right along . . . just like a good girl should . . . :D. Thanks for stoppin by Thumper.

I think your spot on Muddy (thanks for the advice) . . . Watered with Distilled water of slightly under 7 and the RO was a ~5.4. What do you guys think?? A good flush with a higher PH and maybe water in some more dolomite. I added 4 cups to the orignial mix . . . but was so eager to get going that I forgot to measure the PH of the soil after the 30 day cook. First time making my own mix and forgot one of the most important things . . .Somebody kick me . . . PLEASE !!! Is the dolomite going to be too slow to help me . . . it there a quicker ammendment that will not destroy the microbes in the soil?? Seems like I remember reading a thread where Muddy was helping someone with this exact same problem (cant remember if it was an organic grow or not) . . . Im gonna see if I can find it. Still just a noob . . . Man I feel like an idiot. I hate making stupid mistakes. :cuss:

Any and all advice welcome and thanks in advance.

Found the thread I mentioned in this post.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Growbewan and all the guys that helped him out on that grow (Squid, AndyBotwin, Muddy, etc). I was re-reading it yesterday cause I was freakin out a bit . . . . and the advice that he was given then . . . helped me out now. I think Squid said it best when he said "Dont Stress out about growing the Stress Reliever" (or something along those lines). These types of journals help growers long after their done.

Anyway, if you havent checked Growbewan's thread out . . . go give it a read. The "finish line" looked real good.

Day 13

Here are pics of day 13 . . . it feels like I am uploading too many pictures . . . but at the same time, i dont think I have ever read a thread and thought to myself 'Damn, that guy posts way too many pics!!' . . . so here they are.

Also, it looks like 2 of the girls are telling me I am watering them a little too much . . . So, i was thinking about waiting an extra day or two before watering in the lime. What do you guys think?? Now or later. Their normal watering time is about 2 days from now. My gut is telling me to wait . . . or course sometimes my gut LIES !!!

Anyway, here are the pics of the little girls, the big girl, and a couple of shots the big girl just starting to "sweeten" up a bit. :D

Any and all advice is welcome.

Thanks for checkin' in Astro. Yeah, a smart man would pull them out and turn that fan off before trying to take pictures . . . . Instead I try and snap them while they are dancing in the bright light. They are much greener than they appear in the photos . . .:D. Ill grab a shot of one of them out of the tent. I checked out your current grow man . . . looking real good so far . . . keep in goin' bro.

Had to improvise . . . .

Hydrated lime will raise the pH faster than dolomite. But be cautious as too much can burn the roots. I wouldn't use more than 1 tablespoon per gallon of feed, wait 4-5 days, then check the pH again and see where you're at.

Muddy, I had a bit of trouble getting my hands on some hydrated lime (I think the Grow Gods were trying to save me from myself). I checked Lowes,HD, and the local farm\feed store. I even checked a couple of grocery stores for some "Pickling Lime". So I just watered in some of the garden lime that I had at 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil as well as a foliar spray of Espon Salt at 1 teaspoon per quart or water (per you intstructions on another thread with the same problem) Should I have waited to water in the lime as the pots were still pretty wet (little girls in big buckets) and just did the foliar spray . . . . or is it better to go ahead and get the PH levels sorted and deal with the effects of the overwatering?? Did I make the right call??? Just so Ill know better for future grows. Sometimes I think I overthink things too much . . . and being a novice grower that can spell DANGER!!! So Ill give the lime a couple of days to bring the PH levels up a bit and check again . . . in the mean time continue with the foliar sprays for the next couple of days. Thanks again for all your help.

On a side note . . . . anyone else on here just grow for family\friends?? I only grow for my wife (Anxiety, Spinal Arthritus, Sleep Aid, Appetite Aid, etc . . . . she has been able to discontinue 6 prescription meds since I started growing ) Just growing is an extreme stress reliever for me though. . . its kind of funny, these girls still medicate me . . . even though I dont smoke. I guess thats kind of the beauty of the whole thing . . . .:D.

As always, all comments and advice are welcome.

Quick Pics . . . Day 15

Sorry . . . somehow forgot to take shots of the big girl. Ill catch her on the next update. Also, pulled to girls out of the tent for Astro to get a better look at her true colors . . . the pics arent great since there is low light there . . . but it gives you a better idea. Also took a closer picture of the damage spreading to the larger fan leaves due to soil PH being off.
