Jean-O's Show Grows 2024 WMD in RDWC

Little tufta forming up.

Jean-O - do you suggest any defoliation or just enough to let some light in? They're about 30" tall now and even wider still. Starting to get a jump on tying up to prevent saggy branches.

53 Days. Maybe start counting backwards?

All doing well. Evaporation and high temps had the ppm a little high this morning, about 1650 from 1450. Added a bit of water and am waiting for the mix to balance out so I can adjust the pH back to 5.8.

Just ordered a pack of grape cheese too. May plug those in next run. Have a bit of a collection of beans here. Makes me want to expand this thing to 12 tubs.

Had to raise the lights a bit! Everyone is pointing upwards today, they apparently liked the light CalMg shower last night.

Hot as hell in here today. 97.5f. They're reaching straight up. They're a little heat stressed but the cool water in the tubs is probably helping tremendously.

Trimmed out the underbrush last night. Lots of bullshit, no more!

Slow to flower but they're starting to look like little cotton balls. Lightened up on the feed a bit. Got them back down to around 1000, steps down every week until flush, the harvest. 40 some-odd days to go!

Thanks for the bonus beans, @Jean-O Looking forward to running these. Rec'd grape cheese, voodoo, and the duke beans.

I haven't ever run any kind of DWC and I have only seen a few of my strains grown with that style but it seems the plants have taken longer seed to finish with the DWC. I would have thought they would have been quicker with that method. Those are looking pretty monstrous with the longer veg time though. Your going to be looking at a nice haul at the end of this. How does the pheno variation seem?

Fairly homogenous. Some little variations in leaf structure from plant to plant. Long and slender young leaves, similar to that of earlier ruderalis from joint doctor that I grew eons ago. As they age, they take on a more hybrid look - slightly wider and large. Budding-wise, I'm seeing a bit further progression in one with the two others being a little behind. I'll add some pics to this post in a few so you can see.

Structurally they're all pretty much the same. The middle plant, largest isa little behind in forming cotton balls. Long, far reaching branching all the way from the bottom of the plant. Internodal spacing is fair in the top 12" of the canopy, nice and tight at the tops. Heavily LST'd, too, remember. The one in the middle is just slightly taller due to having so much more direct light.

Interesting that the DWC is behind schedule from your experience in dirt. Today would be day 57. Could also be the hotter room temps or maybe just because I'm running the lights 24hrs? It was hitting in the upper 90's here in Detroit about a month ago. How do they handle the heat, in your experience, come bud time? I'm using ArmorSi, GH's silca to help structure and resistance. The upper leaves will point straight up and the leaf margins creep upward a little bit on extra hot days. Probably going to raise the lights up as high as I can tomorrow night to help reduce some of this stress. Fuggin' 95 and rain predicted for tomorrow. Gonna be excessively humid for the next couple of days. Then again next week. I was hoping for a mild summer. lol...
