Well I got two autoflower babies right now, both growing outdoors. A trans siberian, and a chemdog. Today would be day 8 and when I walked outside this morning to check on them, one of them was half eaten! I've had slug problems before so I think that was what happened. One cotyledon leaf is completely gone as well as the first 2 set of leaves even though they were very small. Should I just abandon ship and start a new one? Or see what happens? Picture included.

Thanks, guys.

I'm sorry to hear and see this baby got damaged. What I can understand is If the first set of top leaves are gone, that probably means the top is not producing anymore leaves. No more vertical growth. If you can find any nodes on the stem, it can produce more sets of branches. I would wait for a few more days to check on how it respond. In the meantime, like you said it's not a bad idea to drop another seed into soil.

Yup, I'd do that, too. I did break my Broken Girl in half and she made it. But she was older. I wouldn't give up on it, though. Just leave it alone for another week or so and see what happens. What do you have to lose, right?

i say let her go... iv had one with a damaged seed leaf and it did alright but them new leaves might have hurt her..... starting more would be a nice fail safe tho so your not so far behind on your schedual

I mean, I might start anothet one if I felt the need, but I wouldn't toss one because it's damaged. I'd keep it to at least see what happens...

I'm going to keep it and see what happens. I think she's trying too. I dont' know if it's my imagination or what but I think I noticed the little bits of fan leaf that were left are growing.

Meanwhile the trans siberian which I sprouted the same day, is doing well (picture uploaded). Day 9 today.

I'm going to start germination on 3 sucker punch auto seeds in a few days.

Keep us posted! I'll be sending her cannaprayers and positive thoughts. She may have new leaves starting from the nodes where the eaten leaves came from. Who knows, right? Good job! [emoji106] [emoji122]
