Hey peeps, so my original idea was to reverse a fem, collect some pollen and store it for future use. So far so good but I have some good buds going along with some clusters of nanners. Will the plant self pollinate and produce viable seed?

I know I've read about this but can't find it ATM.

Thanks!

I haven't done it that way, but some peeps here do self pollenating and get viable seeds. If all you have is clusters of nanners, you may not have achieved very strong reversal. You should see male balls, not just nanners. like these, only likely not this color:

If you have more than one plant, the reversed one will seed them all, so keep that in mind.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

Thanks OF. I am using STS that is not as fresh as I would have liked because of planting delays so that may be part of the problem. I may just let it do its thing and hopefully will get some seed.

Just running the one plant right now so no worries about pollinating others.

I'd just let her go and see what you get. If you have lots of nanners, you will likely get at least a bit of seed, but in my experience, some nanners don't produce much. Plan on letting a few branches go for a fair while longer than after you take the bud that you want. The seeds will likely be visible if you dig for them by the time you want to harvest some bud, so you may be able to do a little checking before you decide which branches go to bud, and which to seed. You will have to leave the seed branches a week or two after the bud harvest. The seeds need to be hard, brown, and with dark color banding or variation before they can be assumed to be mature.

Once you have harvested your seed, if you want to start another grow right away and are concerned about seeding new plants from left over pollen, all you need to do is mist the grow area with water, nothing fancier is needed. Water = death to pollen.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

Would be nice to win some free pollen and the buds seem nice off the plant in the above picture posted ;)
