Never had a problem with mine either (touch wood). But mine aren't that old. 1 year on the SP400 and 2 years on the SP300. Even the blurple light that came with the cab is still going strong after 4 years.

So which one, the SE300, the SP300 (like I have), or do they have something newer? I was checking out the GN lights. They look interesting and not quite as pricey as the Amares.

Cree cobs and meanwell drivers, passive cooling, ip 64 rated. The gn's made for weed gardeners. The 0008 even sells for £420!
