New Grower Wild Thai Ryder-Journal

Hello, really like what you are doing. For the last few grows I have been using sledgehammer (10ml/gal) with about 25% run-off and feed after 24/36hrs. So far I believe it has helped get rid of the salts from veg and made the bloom nutes more available to the plant with no interuption in growth/bloom.

Hi, Gent and thanks for stopping by and for the compliment. I've been procrastinating buying Sledgehammer, then I thought it wouldn't get here in time. Just ordered it and it might get here in time. Would like to try it, I've heard nothing but good. Been following your AM grow, looking good brother.

She's really hungry now. I wasn't expecting to feed until tomorrow at the earliest. By heft and Accurate 8, she needed it and stopped at a good 30% runoff. She looks great ...I'll put up new pics on Tuesday or so. I can't believe how dense the foliage is. I have no idea what this means or whether its a good thing or not. I've been taking off some lower or blocking leaves but don't want to take too many.

I had her out today for some "nipping and tucking" and to make some adjustments to my pipe cleaners LST.

Of minor concern is a few lower leaves are showing slight mottling. This could be mg deficiency but I gave them .5 tsp Epsom salts two feedings ago and .75 tsp yesterday. Then again it could be calcium deficiency but having limed the soil, I wouldn't think so. So if the condition progresses, I will reach for my Cal-mag Plus which will address the problem regardless of either cause.

PH is fine (6.2-6.7) but varies depending on depth of soil.

So far, smoooooth growing, conservative feeding, minimal stress, moderate LST success has brought me this far and has yielded the healthiest plant I've grown (so far.)

Looking sweet man.. ready to start packin on some buddage.. best of luck with it

Today (Day 38) I followed Gent's advice and did a mid-grow flush with Sledgehammer (2 tsp./gallon). After using Sledgehammer and waiting an hour or two, I ran another 1.5 of just pH water to flush the sledgehammer out. This is not FF instructions, it just seems to me the surfactant(s) have done their job why not get them out of the soil now? We'll see ....but it couldn't hurt, might also prevent residual Sledgehammer in the soil from being "reactivated" during the next feeding.

As the soil is pretty well stripped of nutrients, I'll give her a fairly heavy feeding tomorrow and take some pics then.

She looks mar--vel--ous.

Thanks for stopping by. Comments always appreciated

They seem to have survived the Sledgehammer flush, no problem. Today I fed them 1.25 tsp Tiger Bloom, .75 tsp Gro-Big, 1.5 Tbs Big Bloom and .75 tsp Cal-mag Plus. The eC runoff was lower than the feed's eC (it was higher before) so the Sledgehammer removed salts.

They seem to be healthy and doing well but don't want to prematurely celebrate getting through the veg-flower transition w/o a major hitch. This is when I normally screw-up.

In any case, we're fully into flower in all aspects...probably only one light nitrogen feeding (Gro-Big) remaining, everything else are bloom nutes/supplements, lights are all 2700K. Total wattage is 250W (CFL) and I'm going to to see if I can cool/take it up to 270w.

Hi folks, here we are at Day 42, pre-watering.

She has survived the mid-grow flush (with Sledgehammer) and has come through with flying colors. I'm pleased that I made it through the veg-flower transition w/o my typical calamities.
Just my opinion (and I am interested in YOURS), but I think she's doing very well.

Tons of buds. BTW, what is the tradeoff between trimming shading leaves to allow more light penetration (a good thing) and elimination of the "engines" which fuel budding??
Looking at my plant, what would you do? Leave it alone, very light trimming, or with so much foliage, go to town and not be particularly concerned about how many leaves are removed??

The canopy is in pretty good shape, i.e., fairly even, the result of some fairly extensive LST for light optimization. The image below shows some of it but within the plant's foliage is a network of pipe cleaners, some connected to one another that are hidden from view.

Looking very good, bro. I take some of the lower leaves to make it easier to water and any leaf that looks bad, try and tuck-in some of the bigger leaves.

The grow continues to go smoothly, no issues at all. Boring is a good thing but there's still time ...

Here she is at 46:

She looks fantastic!
I'd say you'll hit the 50g's
