Which is optimum container size for an indoor, organic, auto, grow to get the most out of the plant?

From what I've read here it appears root quality/density has direct bearing on plant production.

Have seen the rootmaker/ Root Builder pots and believe its for me.

Not only that I can make them myself to whatever size I need.

I realized it may differ per strain. Right now I'm looking at Heavyweight autos.

Yes I'm new to this, but I follow instruction well.

Its True, I wanna come outta the box, like a "Bat Outta Hell"

Thanks......."MysticMossy"

I realize I will look back on this thread and think what a stupid question that was.

Hi Blade,
I think it's an interesting question and the matter should be researched somehow(with experience).
There probably won't be a simple answer though, it depends a lot on growing style and setup, medium type and also on strain.
I've seen various growers using extreme opposites of pot sizes, ratios height/width were from 10/1 to 1/6, from 50cl volume up to 3 cubic meters:)
This goes for photoperiod plants of course.

Generally a ratio of 1/1 should work well for autos and mostly any other plant.

I tend to like the fabric pots which are a bit taller than they are wide. The roots do always go to the bottom, and to all sides for that matter lol. :) Cannabis is very adaptive to its environment, and will grow in just about anything, just about anywhere lol.

As long as the pots are somewhat realistically shaped, then what matters much more is volume! This is where you come in :) you gotta think about where you're growing, and use pots shaped good for your needs and room.

For example, my tent is 2x4x5, so I have more height to play with than anything, so I'll pick pots a good bit taller than wide, like the Viagrow or Mallard brand fabric pots. This works good because cannabis grows much more up than out, and the roots tend to do about the same. Unlike tree roots for example that like to grow out vertically.

For volume, and autos, 3 Gallon pots are most common and about a perfect balance of size to yield. 2 gal pots are often used too but yield starts to become noticeably lower now. 5 gal is a nice choice if you have the room or if you're growing a known monster strain like Dutch Passion AutoUltimate for example. :)

I was just wondering this my self. Thanks anthropolis.
