I have been wondering how my white widow could be purple? Does anyone have any ideas? Pics are attached.

Thanks
Mike

Genetics possibly? I'm still new and learning, but I happen to have a white widow about the same age now, it's the most finicky plant I've ever grown (I've grown alot of photos, new to autos). My widow is white as snow, outside of a lockout that discolored all the fan leaves. Hopefully someone smarter than myself can give you a proper answer.

You are correct genetics on this one short answer. Lowering temps helps but with that looking so early and seeing other similar posts def genetics.

I grew 2 white widows for my first grow and both had purple buds. I was totally dumbfounded when this happened as I was expecting them to look more like the pictures I saw next to the bean descroption by the vendor. i can’t owe this to the environment as I grew one outside and one in the tent.
This is the outdoor one and you can see how the buds look quite dark.

Genetics yes, but at the same time, how do you know the seeds you received are in fact white widow? Where did the white widow parent come from? What auto was used to make this cross day neutral? What filial generation is the batch of seeds you are getting? These are some of the questions that run through my mind when looking at new seeds.

Seems more likely these came from a seed distributor that is in or gets their seeds from Europe. Not that EU seeds are inherently bad, but Buyer Beware. Do your research into where the seeds you are buying come from before spending money on seeds. There is a ton of breeder and seedbank info right here on AFN.

Seeds are from ILGM. The one thing that comes to mind is the high temps I was battling but isn't purple brought out by lowering temps? q

My white widow is also from ilgm, but like I said my buds are snow white, weird we just never know what's going to come out of the seeds

Mine also were from ILGM. Weird!
I also grow lots of vegetables and if I bought seeds for a pumpkin and the picture on the package showed an orange pumpkin and then I grew it and it was white……I’d be pissed.

If it is white widow it should be lemony or limey woody. Either way purple looks good. Could bring out the purple if your outside or inside with no heat at night

Ya but environment controls if purple or not and genes to a certain extent my widow didn't purple but was good. Some purple strains will purple regardless tho
