Greetings and salutations everyone, I have a question I need some help with. I am in day 58 of my autoflower grow (4 plants) to find that my plants all have visible seeds? They are all femeinized, so why do they have seeds?

They are all different genetics from different seeds banks. Have they hermied? And if so why? Is this something that I could have caused through stress? They did have very high temps (34 degrees C) for the first 3 weeks, but that's now stable (24 degrees C, 40-60% humidity) and has been perfect throughout the remainder of the grow.

Or something else, such as lighting related? They have been on 20/4 of light to dark cycle (2 x LED Light 800watt + 600watt = 1400watt total). The light was 70cm from the plants, and lowered by 10cm - 15cm as the plants grew.

Or is this unstable genetics from 4 different seed companies?? By the way, the plants have been grown in a tent, indoors. So no possibility of pollen. They were the only four plants in the tent.

Any help with this would be awesome. It's going to suck having to pick seeds out of these tasty looking nuggs. I would like to try and avoid this from happening on the next run.

If you have seeds then a rooster must have snuck into the hen house ... or one hermied (turned male) w/o you seeing it ... picking seeds will suck but still better than buying bud ...

Hey thanks everyone I appreciate the answers.

I don't think that I enjoy of them turned male on me with out noticing. I have watching them and looking out for any male ball bags.

Cheers @Af_mini, that info was super helpful and makes sense. I have two lights in a small tent (0.6m x 0.6m). So the intense/ bright light in the small spave and high temps could cause this. Or the high temps early in the grow. I'm getting a new 1.0m2 tent next week. So that may stop this from happening in the next grow. Also thinking about dropping the light cycle from 20/4 to 18/6, maybe the extra 2 hours of darkness will help too. They are only 58 days old, so I don't think the seeds came from being left too long. Regardless I'm harvesting next week

Haha @Chester I like your thinking bro. Picking seeds out of buds sucks, but what sucks more is not having any bud to pick seeds from in the first place.

Thanks again

I'm glad I helped out man. I didn't know how to diagnose plants but somehows I remembered I had read about this info. I think that CBD helped with memories. Hahah. Can you take a picture of those seeds you can collect? They are probably feminized seeds and you can grow more buds. :)

Sure @Af_mini I can some photos of the seeds. Does anyone know what the seeds will grow into? If they were produced by a hermied feminised autoflower will they be feminsed autoflower seeds? I guess the only way to find out will be to grow them. While it sucks having seeds in your consiour quality dank, getting a couple hundred free autoflowers ain't all bad I guess.

Because they are Transvestites.................KIDDING

58 days is too young for them to rhodelize and it's hard to think they all would do this somewhat rare reaction ... 34c in their early days shouldn't be a problem either ... Quality autos have no problem w/ various light schedules during the same grow ... if they all have seeds, pollen has been introduced at some point ...

NLxBB & Bubblelicious High Temperature Grow ...

I really don't think pollen was introduced. I have grown regular photo period plants before, so I can spot the difference between male and female plants. As soon as they started to reach maturity I inspected them and didn't see any obvious male pollen sacks. Possibly, one of the plants had male seed pods hidden amongst the female flowers but I doubt it.

I think it was due to heat and light stress. The first 3 weeks I also had the light on 24/0, so that may have also added to the stress. I found this blog where it's cited temps greater than 27 degrees C can cause enough stress to hermie plants.

Your right though Chester, for this rare condition to happen to 4 different strains than something is definitely not cricket. I think it's something I have done to stress them through heat.

I just want to avoid this from happening again/next time with autoflowers. Otherwise its back to photos.

What strain is it you are growing? And yeah, it would be very nice to see you grow those collected seeds. I hope they don't have white shells, those are young seeds and can't be grown. I bought some buds which have one or two of these white shell seeds
