Why are my plants so small and flowering? Help!

This is absolutely true - as new growers, most of the "research" shows this approach as the best way to get roots to spread out. I am grateful to experts like @Mañ'O'Green who take the time and effort to help people out and put to rest many of these urban legends.
Thanks @_state_of_mind_ I just thought of another reason that I should always bring up and forget and that is the soil microbes. If you let the soil in any part of your pot go dry the microbes that feed the plant there die! Fewer microbes smaller yield!

Hey dude, I've had quite a few problems for the last year I've used that light.
A few of my fellow growers advised me to change the light straight away. For financial reasons I did not yet, but plan to.

I'm a straight beginner, but I stunted my first 9 plants. Only the 10th one grew to give me a bit short of an ounce.

Do a little search on the AFN website with the word "BestVA", you'll see we're not the only ones with problems.
You can also check my grow journal. I guess there might be some info that helps you.

That don't mean you won't get buds though!
Good grow mate!
