I am looking at a 26 inch tall Vast and Fast and another one by its side that is 12 inches tall. Planted at the same time, same soil, same nutes. I have gone through ten auto candy kush to finally get two that look good. By good I mean bushy and stocky. I have yanked a few Candy's just because they are wasting space. I have had a couple grow a foot tall with no off shoots and one big cola. I have two now that are 20 inches tall and not even as wide as the 3 gallon pot they are in. I have a blue diesel that is only 12 inches tall and has flowers all over it. It wont amount to crap. I am growing in soil, 600 watt Hp in one room and 600 MH in the other. Using FF trio, liquid roots, fish juice, ph'ed water, FF sledgehammer flush was the last edition to my collection. I had a great short rider auto grow and the last few attempts have been a struggle. Maybe I am showing them too much love. Its a freakin weed and maybe I need to start treating it as such. But the pheno type varience is crazy. All Herbies by the way. So now I am lookin at 2 nice candy's , a nice NL, a diva, a few other candy's I haven't given up on, the diesel, fast and vast, and 12 photos that are 9 days old. Something will work out of all of this.

PS. so what cause autos to flower prematurely? I am not switching nutes up. light on 24/7 for heat purposes. Some flower properly and some start to flower when plant is only 10 inches tall. How can one grow two feet tall and the one next to it only grow a foot tall?

Bro that's just wat you call different phenos, every seed has the potiental to be different depending which partents it takes after then u got to look at how main strains where combined to make that strain. And I don't know what u mean by autos flowering premature, autos flower when they are ready regaurdless of how big in height they are. And id back of the 24/7 light schedule unless the. Breeder of the strain says to do so. Yes its true autos don't need a dark period but most experienced auto growers use 20/4 or what I hear is more effecient 18/6. How big is your space? And it sounds to me you got too many plants fighting over the light. Not knowing excatly how many you have because u didn't say how many candys you had left I count at least 16 plants fighting over a 600w light id say get more light or scale your grow down a little bit.

IDS, thanks for the reply. I have two rooms . Both 5x4, Both have their own 600 w set up with fans. The 12 photos are only 9 days old. So that leaves me with a couple of vast n fast , three candies and the blue diesel in one room under HPS flowering. The other room has 2 or 3 more candy's, 1 more Vast, a NL , and a diva = all under 12 inches tall, plus the 12 photos in small pots under MH light. I will run into space prob if I don't finish the flowering plants in time. But they should be done in 3 to 4 weeks. What I meant about flowering early is..they start flowering it seems before reaching proper size. I have had a few start flowering at 10 inches. They end up finishing at a foot tall. I even had a auto bomb finish at a foot tall. Its like they are stunted. The 24/7 light is used for heat purposes. Growing in an outdoor shed. I do have a heater but would rather use light. Now it is starting to get warm so I will set both timers this Thursday after another cold front departs.

How big are your pots? I use 2 and 3 gallon only and all my plants get over a foot tall. My candy kush was 2.5 and my wipeout express was just under 3 ft. It is kind of strange because fast and vast, candy kush, and blue diesel all averege around 2ft. I've grown two of your three plants my last grow blue diesel was 1.5 ft in 2 gal and my candy and wipout where in 3 gallon.

Chrisp, I too have had that same occurrence and it is just the way it is. You can have one plant sitting there 2-3 X the size of the same plant, same seed, same everything. They are just different phenotypes. I had a hard time understanding to just accept it as I was used to tomatoes or marigold seeds where each one looks just like the next one. The Autos (and all strains actually) are relatively new so haven't had years and years of back crossing to make the strain all produce the same (whatever the name of that is).

It sounds to me as though you are after the consistency of growing from clones, and are a bit surprised by the variability that growing from seeds brings to the equation...

Thanks for the feedback. IDS, I use to start in solo cups and cut out the bottom when ready to be in a 2 or 3 g. container. Lately have been starting in a pots that are twice the size of solo's and cutting the bottom out and placing them in 3 g's. I will keep at the auto's , but will rely on the weight and consistency of photo's I guess. DR. Who, I will also try my hand at cloning this summer or fall. I have read you can use HPS for the entire life of a plant, and tried this because I lost my MH and recently purchasing a replacement. but there is no doubt in my mind that all plants do much better under MH until flowering. The plants I grew under hps either stretched or jumped into flowering mode at an early stage ( auto's) Happy Sunday to all.

chrisp, I don't think you are understanding that autos can not start flowering early. They are genetically programmed to flower at a certain age, usually 3-4 weeks. There is no late or early for an auto.
