So I have amassed a seed collection of autos and I've been inspired to reverse em and make my own seeds. I've done chemdogging so far. Made a few crosses while I was at it too.

I googled how to make CS which was a fun little project in itself. then I selected a spot to spray. My first batch of CS was not strong enough. I got better silver and brewed for longer and it worked great after.

I had 2 Fugue State x Double Grape, one beary white and 2 mexican airlines (Fastbuds) out there on the bench as I reversed the chemdogging plant (this plant i started before everyone else by about 2 weeks) along side them. So I have a few seeds of the beary white x chemdogging and FSxDG x chemdogging now, and I hope to find a bunch more in the bud as i enjoy it! atm I jsut got it trimmed and in jars beginning to cure.

Saved a few vials of pollen for later crossing and am hoping to pull seeds from the male side of the chemdogging plant when they mature! my chemdogging got budrot! but im hoping maybe that's gonna breed a lil mold resistance into the BX seeds. (If i get any mature ones) It's been a super fun adventure so far!

Have you guys done this? how did it go? any tips for a first timer?

I've done a lot of this works ok I prefer sts as it works much better and as for tips using a paint brush to pollenate the buds u want. Keep it up and tag me in ur journals and glad to see someone else experimenting.

thanks for taking the time to reply dude! :) appreciate it!

I have actually bought the supplies to make STS now too! :)

I have a question about journals? I'm a little intimidated to make one. What are the expectations regarding updates and the like? I don't want to start something, if I'm not going to be updating frequently enough.

The idea of posting as i go so others can see and give me advice would be stellar :)

Oh, I actually have 3 more plants outside right now. CD x CDLC, 3bog x AvT and Skywalker x Double Grape

I shook that remaining chemdogging plant like a mofo over them :D

I noticed the few pistils the plants have have turned brown since doing that. this signifies pollination i think?

So I can choose when and how often u want to update the only time ur held to specific rules ect. As for pollenation the color of the pistol will change but it can change color for other reasons aswell so not the best way to tell usually within a week u should see the caylax starts looking different and swelling that's the best way for me.

ahh ok, so not definitely a sign of pollination quite yet then.

I have vials of pollen saved I can crack em open, but i figured why not save em for indoor projects this fall. I have free pollen coming out of the remaining chemdogging plant :)

Use a pin or paper clip roll the tip of it in pollen then paint the hairs and the hair turning is related to being pollenated but it's not 100% that's all it's pretty accurate but sometimes the pollen is sterile or old wat ever the case maybe within a wks time the caylax will look different than the unpollenated caylaxes. The only thing that sucks is the genetics you have your stuck with meaning u can't improve the strain from wat I've seen the cross is @least as good as the originals but generally like the flavor more another thing to keep in mind u can end up pulling double recessive genes instead of getting something as nice as the starting strains it's got almost totally different fluffy weird growth ect now that's only happened 1 time but something to keep in mind. If u need nething just lmk wouldn't mind helping where I can.

interesting. so when we make the crosses. we want to keep the seeds from each plant separate. it that parents final product is decent then the likely hood of it passing on some of those traits is better. and then jars that are less exciting, maybe just bin those seeds. ultimately on the path towards improvement with the next breeding project and so on.

I was reading last night that the seeds actually mature and finish well left in the buds while they cure with the bun in the jars. so it will be easy to keep each plants seeds separate.

If ur working with regs then yes with fems like I was saying u basically rearrange the genes so you can't improve the fems u will always have the same thing the only problem is wat I was saying about recessive traits u won't no until u grow them out. Anytime u cross 2 fems it's a cross breeding can only take place with male and female plants and continue to refine them. Also I like to use the minila tags with the string on them to label the branches I've pollenated and once I chop the plant I harvest the seeds seeds take around 5wks I've actually been letting the plant show hairs all over but no groups of hairs so just when it puts out the first set of hairs I pollenate it that way I don't have to worry about buds I do this on big plants so I can get as much bud as possible as I'm only working with a 2x4 and a 20in x 40in space wise so it's hard .
