My T5s are putting out a good amount of heat. I was planning on using the T5 from seed to veg and switch to the LEDs for flower to harvest. But I read about people only using LEDs. So im wondering if anyone here currently or ever used LEDs from seed to harvest. Could you give me some do's and dont's and maybe some Light to canopy measurements.

I grow under LED's from about day ten on. I typically start my beans in either a windowsill or the closet in my grow room under a cfl. I start all my seeds in rockwool then at 7 to 10 days old the seedlings get transplanted to their forever pot and put under LED. I have 3, 300w rated Mars Hydro LED's in a 4'x4' tent. I am at day 57 with all these plants in that tent.

Started out with 10 plants and only down to 8 left. In the beginning (the first couple of days) I keep the lights at about 20 inches above the seedlings. After those few days I drop the lights to about 12 to 15 inches and keep them close during veg, in bloom I move them to sit about 18 to 20 inches over the average canopy height. I want the light footprint to just penetrate into the canopy to ensure that the buds at the tips of the branches are at the optimal distance.

Hope this helps.
