Hey guys. I am looking to make my own seeds for next years grow, but need some advice. I have Spyder, Cream Caramel, Bubblegummer, and Nl x Big Bud. I want to cross Spyder with all of these but I am not sure if I should start Spyder a week earlier or just start everything together. I want to start them ASAP, but I will wait if I need to. I am just wondering what you guys think.

These will be an outdoor guerrilla btw.

Thanks

First off do you have regs or FEMs that you plan on reversing? Your go is to have the male growing for about two to three weeks (once you see balls is when I usually plant the trees I want to hit) you need to have the females young enough when they get hit with the pollen to make seeds... Hope this helps... Stagger the planting by two to three weeks and you'll be good to go... Start off with that spyder now.... Btw those sound like they will be really nice interesting crosses for sure!

Hey Elsambo, I am gonna move this thread to the breeding section:smokebuds:you should get your questions answered there:thumbs:
Also, welcome to AFN, swang by the Intro section and let us give you a proper and warm welcome:dance:

Thanks. I've grown fem autos before, but never ran a reg. I figured if the Spyder was about a week older it would naturally pollinate the others, especially since males seem to grow faster than females. But I've never ran a male AF, so I don't know if they are a little faster like photo strains.

auto males are about 2 weeks faster than auto females. They're about to die off when the females are just getting warmed up. At least, in my garden they do.

That does seem a little too fast. But then again I've never had an auto male.

With all breeds i've grown thus far. However the more sativa-species tend to be more on the late side. Let's say about one week earlier. The males show sex about three weeks faster for all breeds and go into full flower at the time the females are just showing their wigs. In a completely natural setting I'd expect that just about 20% of all calyxes can be 'naturaly' pollinated.
However, keep in mind this is just an observation of the last +/- 8 breeds I've grown the past few years. I can't back this up with straight facts since every male I find is moved inside to prevent cross polination (or will be used as compost). I only pollinate by hand and I only use the biggest males. The smaller ones are often flowering at the same time as the girls, but those weaker male plants are no good for my breeding programmes.

Thanks. I would like to take the pollen sacks and do individual branches, but this is a guerrilla grow. I'm going to try and catch it in time to do it, I may not be able to though.

I am planning to do one pollination with each then take that offspring and cross it back to the original mothers (I am saving a couple of the seeds to do this). I ant a little more headlines with the cream caramel and the Bubblegummer. Nl x bb was a freebie but I'm gonna cross it once. It seems like they have started cracking down on online orders from my research, so I wanna have my own seeds.

I guess that was a little off topic but I'm stoned haha. Thanks again.

Well, I think I'm going to do a grow journal. I hope you will come along for the ride. I don't see a lot on Spyder from anyone except canned abyss, so I'll do one myself.

Thanks for your input.
