Hey all! This question is still many weeks away from being needed but I'm curious as to what makes you start your flush for harvest? This is my first time growing and want to get a good flush in before harvesting. From other posts, I understand that trichomes are the best indicator. I'm growing a Barneys Farm Zkittlez OG auto in fox farms ocean forest, and will be using some house & garden nutes. What do you look for in your trichomes that makes you want to start a flush for harvest? I'm thinking I'm wanting mostly cloudy with some amber trichs in the final product. I just don't know (lack of experience) how long of a time frame the trichs have from clear to cloudy to amber. I'm worried about waiting too long and getting more amber than I want, not looking for something that will put me to sleep. The plan is to flush for 2 weeks with just water, but have no idea when to actually start the flush.

Any advice/recommendations/experience is appreciated! Pic of my little lady just to show her off, 12 days from emerging from the soil. Like I said, many weeks to go lol

Flushing.... oh boy, here we go again....

For all practical purposes, flushing does nothing for the fruit. Your cutting nutrition about 10 days and expecting the fruit to ripen on the plants reserves. We don't flush other fruit before harvest...
BUT...
Flushing saves money. And... I flush, because I will rerun my medium almost immediately, and need the high P&K loads from flower to be reduced for little ones getting transplanted in.

If I wasn't rerunning my medium, AND cost wasn't an issue, I'd feed right up too chop.

I'm an organic grower.......Personally, I'm very conservative with feeding at all stages of growth, then reduce to nothing couple of weeks prior to harvest, usually at the first sign of cloudy trics. No specific flushing.

Anyone know a general time frame that it takes to go from cloudy to amber?

Very solid answer!

I use biobizz light mix and AN nutes. You don't think there's "flavour" beneficts of flushing? I'm asking because i have one girl flushing and i was going to start flushing another today.

Flushing does nothing for flavor. There will be those that tell you they can "taste" non flushed weed. Do a double blind, grow 2 and flush one. No one will be able to tell the difference. Flushing gives indoor growers the look of being outdoor... outdoor girls will fade in the fall due to their environment. Indoor girls, for the most part, will not fade without help.

And... if your using a soil mix that has time released nutes. It can't be flushed.

If flushing was a real thing, we would flush blueberries and apples.

Well, do you see any inconvenient in resume feedings on a girl that is already flushing?
