Never done cloning so I need basic info here
At what age do you prefer to cut the clone from the mother auto?
Can it be done with already flowering buds from a lower branch?

I've never heard of someone trying to clone budding branches. Unless they are trying to monster crop a photo plant. Probably wouldn't be the best option for your autos. I have one going from a lower branch I broke off during flower it had a couple hairs on it when it snapped off. Doing fine now, still budding.

U want to take them early on right about or before pre flower from the lower end . I take lower branches for 2 reasons 1 they have more time on the clock as far as development goes and 2nd reason is hormones for rooting are in higher concentration on the lower portiong of the plant.at least thats what i gleaned while reading on photo cloning back in my 12/12 days. Some strains clone better than others just like photos. My first ever auto clone was from a budding critical + . it revegged throwing single leafs like a revegged photo bud then budded out to about 10g dry. I dont recommend it but this is an evolving process as those of us that clone experiment with the possibilities
