Glad I came across this forum b/c its exactly where I'm focusing my grow. I'm super intrigued by Autos and want to master quite a few of my favorite strains.

Will you guys help me out? I promise I'm not needy, but instead a super creative and quick learner.

My first official newb question is:

When growing autos with the goal of getting the largest yields possible, what do these plants love as far as lighting, spectrum, wattage, hours etc.

HPS, CFL, 6500k, 2700k, LED, 18/4, 20/4 - it's all up in the air...again I want to know what they like on paper that way I can mimic that using the resources I've got.

Make sense? Irie!

woah.. thats one LARGE question my friend, and im sure there is MANY diferent answers to this. i would recomend you to read alittle around the forums and get some opinions.

HPS or led are in my toughts, better for large yields then f.eks CFL.

More lights more yield.. thats all i can say concret , lol ^^

18/4 20/4 24/0

its all good and comes down to your personal perference.

im running 20/4 with my 600w hps :cuss:

:styles rasta: Yea my vote would be hps or a nice led. The more watts the more bud (generally speaking). I haven't done enough auto's to say which light cycle is better. I personally use 18/6. Enjoy the site! :peace:

Welcome to AFN ganjah, glad to have you join us. Have a browse over in the New Grower's section and read the stickies. There is a ton of info on Autos and will keep you busy while you are setting up your grow room.

Check out the fert section. Nutes play a huge role with yield. And welcome to the family!

Welcome to the AFN ARMY..I run LED and CFL..Spectrum for led depends on the company that makes it..I can use my led for veg and bloom but I want more room so I veg under CFL..The strain you choose is key..dif strains respond better to dif light ..I run mine 24/0 for first week then 20/4 in veg..and I hit with 18/6 at the end ..Really I play with them all lol Lots of grows here for you to try and copy!..Its not as hard as it looks as long as you read a lil first :stylez rasta smoke::tiphat::styles rasta::karma Cloud:

Welcome! I'm using/plan on using cfl's for both veg and flower in my small cab grow. More blue (6500k) for veg, then more red (2700k) for flower. I have two 10 inch reflector "brooder" lamps with ceramic base ($7.50 each at local home improvement store). I added a socket extention, and 3 two-way socket splitters (1 two-way with another screwed into each of it's sockets making a four-way) to each. I'm thinking my max will be 4x42w bulbs + 4x26w bulbs due to heat constraints, but I could go as high as 8x42w if cooler winter temps allow. I hope so because 336w of lights in my 24"x16"x40" cab with all mylar and white interior is like a tanning booth for a single Auto lol.
