So just a quick one, all my previous grows have been soil, and was tempted to try DWC but after lots of research it seems most agree that while hydo systems produce epic buds in quick time, he doesn't come close in regards to Smell and taste of soil grown bud. I was looking at the Octopots like a hybrid of soil and hydro but they are not available in the UK and think I could replicate it myself (Busy searching for right containers) But I see the Auto pots are they a similar thing? Just just with the res away from auto pot?

What are people's thoughts? I not sure about wilma etc as I like to do multiple strains.. And seems like hassle in a shared ress, anyone got any links to grows in hydro with multiple strains? And can leave some feedback that would be great.

As I say I love the look of Octopots and definitely think I can recreate it.

Hear people are having great results in other journals with these systems.

Plus I don't think I like the idea of synthetic nuits, and lots of these companies are affiliated with Monsanto, and no way am I supporting those fuck wits.

Wanted to jump on this thread, I want to stick to using Organic nuits and soil and was torn between the Auto Pots and Wilma System.

Then I found this.. Octo Pots they are passive the bottom of the soil goes into a net pot and sits in water, as the roots go down and hit the they take on a change and become hydro roots, the plants get water from these roots and nutes from the soil. I was think on of using this container

This is what I want to build.

With this container I was thinking of using.

then cut hole in bottom of my super roots pot and glue in a net pot which sits in water.

Basically trying to DIY this.

I was thinking of maybe using wilma res as a giant version and using 6-8 11l pots.

What are peoples thoughts..

Planit do a res and a spare lid that's light proof but can't find a price for them anywhere.

Shouldn't need the net on bottom. I had a ghost toof in a half gallon pot with 3/8 inch holes, dropped it on top of another half gallon pot with airstone and had excellent results.

Looks like a fun project if your the DIY minded type.

I like autopots. Their simplicity and ability to easily repair, replace and add to (in a modular system) ... the Rez also holds like LOADS of water so can go away for longer periods.

I'm terrible at DIY though, so prefer and "pre-built" system! :D

Think the idea is to not use any pumps, the net is to hold the soil in when it gets wet and as the root enters it metamorphos into hydro root. So you end up with two root zones.

Looking at the design, all I need to do is cut some holes one in airport bass to attach net pot and on in lid for pot to sit in.
