New Grower What seeds to choose?

Hi all, new member here and love the site. The main reason I am here (I'm not mega active on the forums) is because I couldn't find out what I needed too in other places. I REALLY hope I can get some good sound advice from people here.

Right then;

I'm a bit of a noob to growing with 2 photo grows under my belt. I've never grown autos, but I am going too.

For me noise is the biggest problem. I currently have a 1.8x1.8x2m tent with a 600w light running, it's too hot in there and I can't really control temps due to noise of extraction (even when I've silenced it as much as I can). For my house, where the walls ARE paper thin with the neighbours, this tent is just too big.

I've bought a 80cm x 80cm x 160cm tent I will now use.

I am considering a 400w light and using a 4inch inline fan with carbon filter to keep temperatures down. A smaller fan will he less noisy even when silenced and turned down to half speed.

I am however open minded to LED lights to grow with.

Anyway; so - my set up is
80x80x160 tent
400w hps light (to be confirmed)
4 inch inline fan with carbon filter
2 4inch clip fans
Using 12ltr root nurse sacks
Using half soil/coco/pertile
(WHAT NUTRIENTS SHOULD I USE??)
I was planning to fill a plant pot full of mix and water it using blood, bone and fish mix, voodoo juice and home and Garden roots accelerator then put my seeds in. Once they are 2 weeks old then use BioBizz organic feed of Flower, Boost and Bloom.


Now the million dollar question is; what seeds shall I buy?

I need a plant that won't grow much taller than 100cm but can produce AT LEAST 2 OZ of smoke for myself.

I am planning on growing 2 plants in this tent at anyone time. I will have 2 more vegging in a separate propagation unit I made so can keep harvesting and adding to the tent. Should get a nice little rhythm going with it.

What strains based on what I've said guys??

Good job doing your research... that pays dividends.

Second is im gonna make reccomendations based on what youve put out with the criteria that your plant is HEALTHY. I dont use the nutrients you described so i cannot off much there. I do however have reccomendations if you ever need a proper feed schedule OR if you want to go organic water only ...

That being said i would grow mephisto. Fast world wide shipping... top shelf smoke. The plants i have personally grown that fit your plan...

Sour crack... but may not be 2 zips..

Heisenberg special.... a real treat and damn fine plant.

White n bubbly

crape crinkle is quality so is double grape but not thie biggezt plants... (if thats what you want)

Fact is put any of these plants in a 3 gal and your working with a nice hardy plany that will yield ok and smoke wonderfully. Mephisto rockels

On to the next... if you have mo ey amd can spend a little i reccomend ditching the 400hps for led... you cut operating cost. It last longer. And the good led panels just flat grow more proficiently at WAY less heat... in turn a smaller fan and less noise...

Top man. I've looked into Mephesto and they look awesome. I'm quality over quantity but I reckon 2oz a plants not too greedy.

I will be starting this in 2 weeks. So plenty of time.

I say I will use BioBizz as I already have it in the house you see, I can buy any advanced nutrients at a decent price (I buy sample packs as I use so little nutes) so any suggestions there are welcome my friend.


LED... LED...led!!

I wanted to use a 300w led and maybe add a 250w hps during flower?

Can I use only LED light as it will massively bring temps down and now summer is coming that would be perfect...


So, I'm going with Mephesto... what light set up will suit my plan best?

(I have actually done 2 grows with no extraction due to my situation and have been successful however successful it's still very stupid and I've managed to get away with it but never again haha)

Ok so above is my feed. It works wonders on plants.... ill tag you in my thread youll see.

I know its a lot but heres the deal. You totally dont have to use it all. You can build up..

Start with an AN base nutrient... sensi or the three part. Get the vodoo and some big bud and boom.... you can grow a nice plant. The rest is all fine tuning... to maximize

LED is a touchy touchy subject .... if you plan on doing this for a while a hugher up front cost for quality LED saves money in the long run og multiple cheap led or hps...

No need to add hps later. Led is a fuller specturum and can give all required in both veg and bloom

Hey buddy good to meet ya and welcome to AFN

Your whole situation is completely accessible, stealth is my top of my list and trust me I have just done it all what is bothering you with that same size tent but its going take some effort and cash.
For super super stealth on your extractor fan you need to make a silence box and have it on the out side of the tent and hung on chains... if it touches anything the vibration will travel. If you can afford it a Varic fan controller will silence your fan motor when turned down but if you build the box good enough you don't need one.
A 200w DIY cob led light fixture would be good on stealth if you go passive and also give you a massive save on heat... you'll end up having to add it in... also it will kick ass over a 400w
Boxing your tent in will also help dampen any sound.
Carpet under the tent will reduce vibration and help dampen sound traveling down
Insulating all ducting... this made a huge diffence
I can also recommend the 13w clip on monkey fans by secret jardin, really silent... hang them with bungies not clipped onto the frame, this keeps the noise down loads
You could also make a silencer for the end of your exhaust, not done that yet but will soon then I'm mega super silent
When it come to seeds you can't go wrong with Mephisto and Fastbuds

Except the tangie i have going now.. shes a bigger one
