Hey guys,

Maybe this is in the wrong section but I figure dumb new guy questions should be here.

So, paper bags for drying. I've googled a bit but just curious what is recommended or preferred around here. Are you guys using the thick paper bags
you get at the grocery store or should I be looking for the smaller and thinner lunch bags?

Is it more size dependant? Large harvest = large bag so there is space for a single layer. Or should I be more concerned with material density, the thicker walled bags?

Thanks!

When I need to use paper bags, it is the large shopping bags we used to get at the grocery prior to plastic. Will fill 3 to maybe 6" deep. Fold and pin closed. Open and rotate material daily. Slows the dry down when I can't maintain 60% rH. I usually bring them out @ 50% or lower. But... that is just me. And no mixing of strains... probably obvious, but... maybe not.

I prefer the thick one as the moisture evaporates in 3-5 days. And shake the bag at least once per day. Or you'll get some buds that's flat on one side. Give me 15 mins and I'll show you both.

See the flat side. That's from not shaking the bag.

This is the bag(not the one I use but still the same) to use as the thin bag drys to fast.

Hope this helps!

If you fill that with buds still on the stems you can fill 1/2 -3/4 full then just slip another bag over the top. Then you can just rotate it whenever you go by!

Awesome tips. Thanks guys. I'm still a ways off harvest but want to get my equipment sorted ahead of time. I've noticed shipping delays due to covid, which are understandable. I was quite spoiled by Amazon prime. Most things in less than a day.

Thank you there bro!! Good tip! Was using 2 bags with just the bottom filled.

Here is how I do mine. A good handful of bud into small lunch bags and placed in a box with a small computer fan blowing through.

Play around with different methods posted around afn and see what works best in your environment for a slow even dry.
