I'm doing some modifications to my hydroponics system. I have this: Amazon product

But I want to put a hose up the side so I can tell the water level. What the heck is the fitting that goes in the hole in the bucket called so I can find one? I know how to do the job, just not how to source the parts.

Perhaps check out "spigots," "ports," "fittings."

Perfect. The kit is cheaper than getting the parts separately since I only need one. I've tried the grommet before, they leak. Or I didn't do it right.

You need 3 parts.
  • A GROMMET is the rubber seal you put on the bucket
  • A coresponding plastic elbow that fits both the grommet and tube
  • Clear flexible plastic tube.
Or you could buy a General Hydroponics FARM KIT which has everything Plus you get a drip system that runs on air.

90 degree barbed bulkhead fitting. Commonly used as an emergency overflow drain on a salt reservoir for a water softener. Tighten that in and add tubing. 1/2” is likely the proper size
