I am wondering what people think is the best led grow light out there ?

I have a small space about 3 sq feet and was looking at the blackstar 100w and the blackstar 240 ?

can anyone tell me what temp these lights run at ?

any info and your opinion would be much appreciated

240 would be fine in your small space... temps are very low close to no heat generated.

hey lou check out tshirts grow journal he uses all blackstar lights

yo lou good to see you coming to the led guys side. the 240 puts out very little heat. I run 3 plus a 100w unit and some assorted cfls and only use a 4" fan for my exhaust. I put 2 in my 4x4 tent and didnt vent it at all in the winter and ended up needing to add a ton of cfls just to raise the temp to acceptable lol.

thanks tshirt i have looked at your journal . have you found any other led lights that you like better or that compare to the blackstar ? and where do you order you light from ?

I'm using a GrowLEDHydro Spectra 180 in a 2' x 2.5' space with great results. I also use a 4" fan running on low for air exchange and found that in the winter I needed to put a small electric heater in there to raise the temps as the LED gives off very little. I love this light and am probably going to get a second on this fall to replace a 400 watt HPS I use in another area.

Lou i checked around for over 6 months before deciding on blackstar. I was an optics and laser major in college and know my lights and lenses. I found by talking to people that owned other panels and looking at the guts that you are essentially getting the exact same thing light for light with the exception of the ones built on us made boards which will cost you between 3-5 times the price for the rest of the parts still being the EXACT same. only changes are gimmick items like a switchable spectrum for veg/bloom or finned heatsinks for more heat absorption. These tactics are garbage and misleading. Even with photo plants you don't need to use different spectrums with leds. The % of light absorption is rediculously higher than any other system out there minus plasma induction lights which are at the stage leds were 2-3 years ago, a great concept but FAR too expensive until the tech gets out more. Honestly I personally wouldn't use anything else that I personally have seen for what the lights purpose is which is to grow good bud. It does that perfect for a lot cheaper than a lot of companies. Quality is great and all around everyone I know with them are extremely pleased with the results on autos and photos. But honestly research for yourself and see what is a good fit for you. No two growers will ever be the same and your climate/location will make all the difference in your personal setup. With that being said just look up blackstar led in an ebay search for the number to gotham hydro. Talk to Victor and he will hook you up with whatever special they can pull at that time. Just a disclaimer I do not work for any entity that makes or sells the blackstar lineup. I have been getting criticism on some other boards I'm on as a rep when honestly I'm just a knowledgeable person who will not be swindled out of my hard earned cash when i could spend the extra on fans, cords, nutes, soil, pots..... the list goes on and on what all you need to save your money for when you grow. Lay out a full budget and see what all you can get for that price by researching heavily. He with the most information is king when it comes to growing quality cannabis and for setting up a grow area that you will not regret. I made mistakes and have upgraded equipment and spaces 3 times now and it cost me quite a bit of coin. But honestly think of how much you spend on bud a month and put that money into your grow space as you pull bud and you will have a monster garden. I started with 3 plants and 1 100w led unit and now I'm about to have light movers and multiple panels running 24/7. It is a journey to have a great grow room and you literally reap what you sow. Enjoy the ride and remember you will mess up! Just learn from your mistakes and move on. If you need any help stop by and post in my perpetual garden thread in my signature. Myself and others will be more than happy to answer your questions. Welcome to the site and happy growing!!!!!

I have a 300w and a 900w LED from Calyx LED. Fucking titties is all I can say. Email them and ask about the "PRO" line... it's not advertised to anyone but people like us ;) They have switchable spectrums for veg and flower, multi-step power supplies so you'll never have to worry about blowing an LED out. I have had ENORMOUS results with their 300w, so this 900w is going to wreck shop no doubt. I should be firing it up soon, just need a few more plants to put under it so it's not an extreme waste...lol.

I'm running a 500w blackstar in a 4X4 tent and I'm very happy so far.
