Lighting What is optimal airflow for Telos?

It is S&P TD-350 Silent that I got. Here is a link to the manufacturer, they also have PDF with details: http://www.solerpalau.com/product/residential/in-line-duct-fans/td-silent.html

I'd advice to go with the low RPMs since it keeps the vibrations and sound minimal. I caught myself twice feaking out momentarily thinking I forgot the fan off.. Cost is quite high and the fan is bulky but its pretty neat.

Hey mate, can you enlighten me on how quiet this fan is please? Just about to start using extraction for the first time, and was going to go with a phresh hyperfan stealth, but now looking at yours too.

Noise specs are misleading/incomparable, with yours measured at 3m with rigid duct on both ends, and hyperfan just measured at 1m.

Could you please compare it to something like a 6 inch clip on fan? Louder or quieter? Anything else you could compare to, and have you heard the silenced can-fan type ones?

Cheers man.

Thats it mate.squeeze every drop of info out of medgrower sound.like.the ticket for me im in a.simular situation to you get annoying at night time so a silentish fan with insulated ducting I think.will help out alot

Tell you what makes a big difference from what I'm seeing mate, and thats a bit of rigid ducting (preferably foam lined) on each side of the fan. Kills most of the noise, or seems to. So FILTER - RIGID - FAN - RIGID - INSULATED DUCT in sequence. I have neighbours all around and below me now I'm in a flat. And its wooden floor boards etc so have to be quiet. I ditched clip on fans and use a tower fan now. No more vibrations! :)

Alright guys. Definately it is quieter than my clip on fans etc.. I use just regular duct with no foaming for now. Could clearly hear some noise with high RPMs and had a vibration a little bit. Wiring the unit for low RPMs fixed it and then it was very quiet too. Definately recommend on lower RPMs and if you need more airflow just go with bigger diameter.

This is my first truely quiet one so I havent heard of any others yet..

Thanks a lot for that mate. Nice one.
