Since the legalisation of Medical Marijuana in Thailand earlier this year, decent vapable weed has been increasingly hard to find. Apparently the government has bought it all up to use for Cannabis oil....So after several weeks of research, and online shopping. I have just planted my first auto-flowering seeds.

Small set up just 2 plants.

NYC Diesel and Blueberry Cookies

70cmx70cmx160 MarsHydro tent
MarsHydro Eco 300 w LED
3 gallon (11L) fabric pots
4" carbon filter with a Duct fan
interior fan for circulation

hand-mixed super soil:

3 handfuls of peat moss
3 handfuls of quality compost
2 handfuls Perlite
1 handful coir dust
1 handful vermiculite
1 handful pumice (with a layer of pumice at bottom of the pot)

Going to be Organic, with Molasses and kelp liquid as only additives

Just planted the seeds in Jiffy peat pellets directly into the 3 gallon pots

What have I forgotten ????....or does that sound okay to people ?

My ambient temperature is 30 degrees C and Humidity about 60% (with no fans)....keeping these levels down will be a challenge.

Hi and :welcome:its just a weed:smokeit:
But somethings can be real usefull like a ph pen,an extra fan/spare carbon filter.
Good luck n keep er lit

Would love to see how you deal with the temps! Any grow journal?

You might think about how you will deliver more nutes once you get into the grow. The soil setup you have seems unlikely to do the job with only kelp and molasses as the nute source. Best to have options in place before deficiencies show up. I don't grow organically, so can't offer specifics. I mention this because I see quite a few attempted organic grows that run into trouble with nutes later on. Cannabis is a hungry plant, especially once rapid growth gets cranking.

Good luck with your grow, and welcome to AFN. There is lots of help here.

Thank you for your reply. I have been lead to believe that Autoflowers don't require as much feeding as photo's "less is more" is a comment that I have read many times on many sites. But I shall look into some more organic nutrients. The molasses is more food for the soil and the micronutrients within it, rather than for the plant itself.

Yesterday was 4 weeks....and under instructions from the makers of this T-Rex "Mega bloom" compost which I ordered (Sorry forgot to put this on the initial post, locally produced by cannabis growers in Thailand) I added 1 handful to the soil before watering. ....it smells like is full of all sorts of organic matter : ) Have been told 1 handful per week, then smaller handfuls 2 to 3 times a week after 50 days. does that sound about right ?

The result this morning is that a couple of the leaves have their tips turned brown, nothing to worry about I don't think, just maybe a little bit of an initial shock perhaps ?

The LST which was started in week 3 has kept the plant low and bushy, probably would be about 15cm tall without LST. I can count about 7 spots that will hopefully start to grow into colas.

Alas the NYC Diesel never germinated, so have now germinated a Northern lights and an Amnesia instead. So this photo below is the blueberry Cookies Auto.

NB: the shiny leaves at the top of the photo are just wet from recent misting.

Looking good, good luck with the rest of the grow. Keep posting the pics and people here will let you know if they see any problems developing. :goodluck:

Many thanks, I am pleased you think it looks okay.....I worry it is a little small?

I am not the person to ask because I am new at this stuff too. However, your plants have healthy new growth with little or no signs of deficiencies at this point, so I would not worry too much. Growth rates vary even within the same strain, especially during initial growth in my limited experience. One of the plants in my current grow almost went in the compost bin, and now she is doing as well or better than her sister. I suggest just hanging in there and seeking advice here when you think it is a good idea. Starting a grow journal for your grow might also be helpful and fun.

I still recommend putting some nute options in place before you need them in case deficiencies show up later. There should be lots of information in the organic section of this website, but I do not grow this way, at least not yet, so I can't help with details. If you intend to stay organic no matter what shows up, you need to pay attention to how quickly the nute sources you have as backup can help. There is no point in adding a nute source that will not change things until weeks later. Weeks later will not cut it with autos. If they starve, they stunt, and your yield, if not their survival, will suffer.

Good luck with your grow, and have fun with it! :welcome: :goodluck:

10 days on and all good I think... ...a few leaves turned brown near the bottom (I removed them) but the plant looks happy to me
