New Grower What happened to my babies?

Hey @Koolaid12

I start my seeds in my laundry room, where it is warm plus keep it damp, right now because it is so warm here I put a plastic sand which bag over it to keep the moisture in. Then I move mine to a sunny window or just go ahead and put it my tent ready to be transplanted in 2 weeks with light waterings of cal mag.

I dont try to keep it cool at anytime. I think the warmer the better.

Hope this helps.:vibes:

i think it was a combination of things, hearing the light is 6" away leads me to think they just got too leggy and couldnt balance/support their own weight.humidity/moist stem, not as strong as a dryish stem, and dampning off a thing i dont know much about.
could have tried building up a lil soil round the stem and maybe a wee support to.but at the same time these things happen to a seasoned grower time to time.1st grows anything can happen.
start again keep posting updates @ me and whoever else you think to pop in and keep an eye on you.read the stickies and links in my signature some great guides in there.
good luck n keep er lit.

I start all my beans the same way, I use soaking in pH water 24 hours , then paper towels in a bag in 2 plates for 3 days by then roots are ready for there pot

That makes the most sense because they started off good but after hitting about 1.5 inches they started leaning. I thought that 1000w would be too strong for seedlings.

Might also be the result of the rapid rooters drying out from being under 1000w and no humidity dome. I was watering the plugs multiple times a day. This time im using a dome with the plugs. Just how far should a 1000w led be away from seedlings?

if you are able to put the rapid routers in the final pot that will help keep them moist.
LED lights are funny in that 1000W can equal 300w or 800w most people start between 24-36" away, its a bit of trial and error.

Mine was actually 1500w but around 1000 actual wattage. I try to put the plugs in the bags to avoid transplant stress. Im not doing the humidity dome thing. But that's what I did last time and I still had to water the plugs multiple times a day
