I am growing 4 auto plants with 2 in veg and 2 in flowering in a 32x32 tent. I have a 240w kingbrite led quantum board on 24/0 with the ac infinity 6" fan with filter on there. I have the fan on the low setting and I would rather not have to turn that up to try to lower the rh. The rh is now around 60% but I want to lower that to around 40 for the flowering. I am looking at this dehumidifier.

Do you think that dehumidifier would lower the rh like 15-20%? What dehumidifier would you recommend?

The 60% RH is great for your plants in Veg. not so good for flower. Compromise at 50% RH and defoliate from underneath for maximum air flow. If your plants look like Indica you may need to lower to 40% RH big tight buds! If they look more Sativa lighter more open buds 50% RH should work. Four plants in a 32x32 might be too tight?

Now for the dehumidifier 16 oz is a drop in the bucket. you will need to empty it a lot if it actually works! I run a dehumidifier in the room the space is in and I can pull several gallons a day. What is the RH outdoors?

What kind of temps are you running? Why don't you want to turn up the exhaust fan up?

Thanks. The tent is in the closet in the bedroom. You think I should put the dehumidifier in the room outside the tent? If you think the 16 oz is not large enough how about 1 that is around 50 oz on there? I do not want to spend a lot on a dehumidifier and the large dehumidifiers are pretty expensive. It is 2 plants in veg and 2 plants in flowering so only 2 of the 4 plants are large inside the tent. I would like to get the rh down to like 40%. The tent is usually around 50-60% on there.

The temperature is usually like 73-79 in the tent. When I have the fan on the low setting it pulls in the sides of the tent. I tried moving it up 1 and it did not look like it lowered the rh on there.

You can try opening more intake flaps or holes in the tent to stop it from sucking the walls in. That might lower your humidity as well.

Where are you exhausting your air?

Thanks. I have the flaps open. The tent exhausts into the closet above the tent but I keep the door open to the closet on there. I do not really have the option to exhaust it out of the room on there. It is in an apartment and this is working fine I just need to lower the rh from like 50-60% down to like 40% on there.

From my calculation of what you told me you need about 100ml without considering the amount of water given to the plants. I've never ran a dehumidifier so I can't say for sure that 500ml will be sufficient but if it doesn't work you just have to return it.

You might be worrying about nothing.
We all know the accepted wisdom is low humidity during flower to avoid bud rot.

That is not true for me in hydro.
Right now, I've got humidifiers in 3 tents to keep humidity around 65% during flower.

Maybe hydro or my location is special, but I've never had bud rot with 65% humidity from seed to harvest.

I suspect fear of bud rot harms yield if the high humidity recommendations of the VPD chart are not followed during flower.
But I'm just one data point.

I thought PM was caused by large 10+ swings in temperature and humidity. I've flowered at 60% but it's also always 83-85f in my tent and inline with VPD to some extent.

72-79f with 60% is more or less in range to flower with though.
