What causes this? Coco and hempy heads have a look

Yeah man i think they are, i drilled a hole in the bottom to drain the res, waited 12 hours, so 24 without watering. I watered with 200ml of nute water and had 150ml of runoff so way more than the 10-20% i read is recommended for coco. Ill wait a day or 2 and see how they go.

Ill be starting more seeds wed or thurs so hopefully ill have it dialled in by the time they are this age.
I water to saturation without trying to get any runoff in coco. Organic nutes though. Lately I am watering a little less but more often. It is theoretically difficult to overwater in coco but IMO that is once the plants are much further along and thirsty. You will see one day you will water normally and it will not nearly be enough.

I'm new to coco and just had very similar issues. I think it's over watering.. Despite everywhere you read saying "you can't over water coco" . I cut back my watering on smaller plants and just keep the top 15% moist and wait for the bottom of the pot to start to dry out even with the top. Seemed to work for me, no more droopy ladies with the puffy look.

Good luck with the rest of your grow, hope that helps.

(EDIT) thinking it over a little, I think the "you can't over water coco" comes from guys growing photo period in proper sized pots all along the way. Auto flowers don't have that luxury.

how long did you let it dry out for ? I let my 2l pop bottle grow go 2 days between watering, and it's about 15 days ahead of yours in size I would guess. I use a water meter to check, I like to time it just before it hits the completely "dry" mark or about 10% saturation.

Everyone's is kind of different, but for the size of plant you posted in your last pic it would take me 4-5 days before I would water to run off. I might add 100ish ML in water once in between to keep the top half moist and consistent with the bottom.

Keep in mind I'm still learning with coco, but my first couple plants looked just like yours and thats how I resolved it.

I left it dry 36hours and it was the droopiest it had looked and the oldest leaves are starting to yellow so i watered again rhinking maybe its under watered, but if it takes you 4 days to water till run off maybe i just need to chill.

Just want to get it sorted before flowering starts in the next week or 2. This is my first go at coco. The next seeds im going to run in 100% perlite hempy, that worked amazingly for me last year i just hate the mess of perlite.

hi, my friend, i grow in coco and these are my 2 ltr and 1 ltr bottles you want to feed these when they are light mine are a bit older than yours i can feed these daily but yours will be every 2 days dont let them get bone dry but you will know by the weight if there close also your plants will look limp if there hungry and even just before lights out mine look tired

If these are Hempys are you watering to runoff? I am running coco hempys and I always try to get atleast 20% runoff.
You should be able to water a hempy multiple times a day if you want so. They actually look hungry and I would increases the feed and the CalMag which LEDs seem to increase the need for.

Goodluck

I was watering till 75% same as i ran my 100% perlite hempys. I have now drilled drainage hole so these are now drain to waste

Just a FYI I was taught you should water to 20% runoff to avoid salt buildup. If your running a Hempy you really want to flush out the old nutes with the new ones.

JMHO
Peace and Goodluck
