Another would be maybe the water and feed cycle you used..
Hoveritis - the completely understandable act of new growers thinking they need to be constantly attending to something. Usual indications are...
1) not going more than a few hrs without checking. something
2) over manipulation when using LST techniques.
3) Inappropriate feeds (not balanced)
4) lack of correct tools or not understanding how to use them correctly. (Ph and ppm meters etc)
As near as I can figure, we all start this way to some extent.
There is much empirical evidence that a longer night time is needed and is easy to verify on the web. I like personal experience and often test theories myself. When I first started growing indoors with a friend at his place. We ran 3 tests with six plants in each test. They had to be from seed because autos and clones don't work. So there could be variation in the test because of the seeds but it was as close as we could get. All of the seeds were from the same pack of 25 Dinafem White Widow Autos. The first grow was 24/0 the second was 20/4 and the third was 18/6. I did this long before I was posting to cannabis forums. The 24/0 had the largest yield with the poorest quality, Flavor, Aroma and buzz. It ripened the fastest. The 20/4 Had nearly the same yield and time frame as the 24/0 but the quality was better. Then the 18/6 was less yield by about 10% which was almost 3 oz. but the quality was so far superior to the others that I have grown with 18/6 since then. I would rather have quality over quantity any day. We were using HID lighting and the power savings was substantial as well even though the 18/6 ran two weeks longer.I gave them 20/2 light schedule. Thats what I see on breeder posts.
Ppm meter is for mixing your nutrients. Some call it an EC meter. Same same.
Honestly I don't see a reason to supplement CO2 in most grows. Most (including myself) would see more benefits from polishing up our A game than adding co2.

It's nice to see things for yourself or from a person who's experienced it first hand. Very interesting though even personally on a smaller scale and I wasn't testing just running same nutes feeding schedule and they got more under 24/0 but they were less happy with the quality of the smoke then what I produced with the 18/6 in going to have to show him this quote. There is much empirical evidence that a longer night time is needed and is easy to verify on the web.
